      Warm wool socks are expensive esp. if they wear out in the heels in 1 yr. These seem like they will last much longer making them worth the price. I've only had them a few months, but I wear them every week. I'm hoping they are as durable as claimed. So far, no wear and tear even noticed!

        Here's the thing: If you don't know about Darn Tough socks yet, you should! They are without a doubt the best---most durable and attractive---sock available. (a million times more durable than Smartwool)

        Darn Tough's are truly Darn Tough. When I walked a long trail (2,650 miles) a few years ago, these socks were true heros. They NEVER wore out in the toe---and only began to show wear on the sole after many many many hundreds of miles in harsh conditions. Buy any Darn Tough product and you will be glad you did!!

        I love that the is no seam to speak of across my toes. This company makes socks for many uses in many colors and designs; I hope to see more of them at REI in the future.
        I find myself picking them from the sock drawer to wear over any of my other socks every day.
