My 5 year old daughter loves this shoe so much that she wears them every day. They are super cute and comfortable. Now getting out of the house is super fast as she runs to the door, steps in these shoes and is ready to go. She is petite for her age and very delicate on her shoes, and to this date has never worn out a pair of shoes. However, after the second week of wearing these shoes, the fabric above the toe started wearing out. Soon after that, the rubber started separating from the fabric. If I had more time and energy I would have brought them back to REI to complain, but she is fine with the wear and tear and I don't really have time to deal with this. Overall I think the shoe is ok. I would treat them as a durable slipper - definitely not a durable sneaker or even a normal walking shoe. She still loves them more than any other shoe to date so that says a lot. She can climb really well on play structures without slipping. She can run fast without the shoes falling off or tripping her up. And she is always happy to put these shoes on to go out.
