The downhill-oriented Scarpa Maestrale RS randonee boots are designed for hard-charging backcountry skiers. They are 20% stiffer and only a touch heavier than the original Maestrale boots.

    • Polyamide shells and Pebax® tongues keep the boots light yet stiff for great responsiveness on fast descents
    • Shell design combines the best of both the overlap and cabrio constructions to allow easy entry/exit, excellent volume control and strong support for downhill performance
    • Touring-style Intuition Pro Flex RS liners use 100% Ultralon® foam for a custom fit; liners offer good range of motion yet provide support with stiff tongues
    • Tongue-style liners (as opposed to a wrap-style liners) provide easy entry and comfortable flex through the shins when touring
    • See an REI ski shop professional to have the liners custom molded to your feet to maximize comfort and performance
    • Boots are compatible with all randonee bindings; tech fittings at the toes of the boots accept Dynafit-style bindings
    • Tech fittings have grooves that make getting into Dynafit-style bindings easy; fitting indicators can be seen from above to help you line the boot toes up with the bindings
    • 3 magnesium buckles and a Predator RS instep strap on each boot lock your feet in place; instep straps are easy to engage with gloves on
    • Wide rip-and-stick power straps wrap securely around the outside of the cuffs, distributing pressure and bringing the cuffs as close as possible your lower legs
    • Rear ski/walk mechanisms free the cuffs for walking comfort; flip the switches to ski mode and you can lock the cuffs at 16° or 20° of forward lean
    • Maestrale RS boots have a forefoot width of 101mm
    • Scarpa Maestrale RS randonee boots feature lugged Vibram soles for good grip while hiking on rock and snow

Comments about Scarpa Maestrale RS Randonee Boots - Men's - 2012/2013:

I used these for the first time yesterday (Yes, skiing pow on Halloween in WV from the snow hurricane!!) and man are they light and comfortable. My last BC boot was a Dynafit Titan in a 29.5 and I am using these in a 28.5 (performance fit). I think maybe I shouldve gone for the 29 becasue I was getting a little toe bang when skinning on flats and warmth could be a problem on cold days or overnights. However, the bucle that goes directly over the ankle oddly designed and on the size 29 I was using it to the last notch and once the liner wears in or I mold it, I would not be able to get any tighter fit if that makes sense. They are warm I think, but it was around 30 degrees. They are very very stiff, probably too stiff for many or if you are skiing low angle pow on them. I think they will work great as an inbounds and bc boot. They are incredibly light, so much so that I will use them ski mountaineering. They also come with nice intuition lines (bonus) and decent insoles. Overall a very very rad, light stiff freeride boot!! I am very happy with my product. Only concerns is the buckle not providing enough adjustability into the future. These things fit my feet like a glove right out of the box!
