    The spring and pin fall out easily when expanding the poles. I had to return my set after the 1st time opening it. There were 5 other sets left at the store and at least 1 pole in each set came apart the same way when I checked them. Since there was no other options available at the time I grabbed to best working set and try to remember to open them slowly and carefully every time.
    I even used the 1st set before I returned them. I skinned up and snowboarded down on my split-board. when I got to the bottom I realized that half of the crummy pole was missing due to the lame spring/pin design.
