Comments about Nordica Hell and Back Skis - Men's - 2012/2013:

I'm 5'10" 160 male very aggressive skiier..I grew up racing and like a ski with a strong side-wall and the ability to hold an edge and rip turns. Most of the skiing I do now is in the back bowls, tree lines, cliff lines, and groomers - I need a ski that I can navigate in no-fall zones and also charge thru the crud with. The Hell N Back is this ski for me. Plus, once I'm back on the groomers heading down to the poma, these things lay and hold a strong edge right thru my turns. They're like a fat version of my GS 185's I skiied, but lighter. I don't know how Nordica did it - I push on these skiis and they push right back at me. I love that. The early-rise is really accomodating for setting turns in tight places, and keeps me afloat in the deep.

Other skiis I would consider in this category: Volkl Mantra. I found the Mantra's to be too strong for me (honestly) - my legs were dead after an AM of hard skiing, and I found the metal-top sheet a bit too stiff and unaccomodating for setting tight turns in trees. Hell N Backs have a great balance of strength and response for me.
