Comments about REI Havenpass Gaiters:
Went on a recent trip to Mt. Whitney and I purchased the Havenpass just for this trip. These gaiters have so much potential. eVent material is great for its breathability, waterproofness and light weight. I even have some pants that are made out of eVent, so I was really excited about having matching gear. Even when post holing my boots and pants stayed dry and protected!
What I disliked was the fit. I wear a size 10 in mens and I purchased the L/XL. The part that wraps around the calf is only secured by velcro. But I must have some skinny legs and the adjustability would only allow me to get it so tight. So the hole thing was only secured with 1/2" of velcro with a bunch of overhang and it was still loose. Gaiters would not stay in place at all. Another thing I disliked was the strap that wraps around the bottom of your boot. It would seem like the material would deteriorate after heavy use. But the worst was it did not want to stay in the excess strap retainer and would just dangle around which got annoying. I first had them backwards facing the inside and was tripping on them for a few miles. I finally had enough and had to switch them so they were facing the outside. But no matter what I did to secure them, they would keep coming undone and flap around everywhere.
If they can fix these design flaws, the Havenpass would be the ultimate set of gaiters. But till then, I will be returning these in search for a better fitting product.

Comments about REI Havenpass Gaiters:
Perfect for a winter hike up Mt. Washington in NH. Kept the bottom of my pants bone dry even after sinking into the snow a few times. I was initially skeptical about how well they would stay up after reading other reviews of high-rise gaiters, but these stayed in place without a problem.

Comments about REI Havenpass Gaiters:
We had a 12", densely-packed, overnight snow here in Manitowoc in early March of 2013. The snow was well over the top of my regular winter boots, so I put on these gaiters that I'd just purchased and went outside to snow-blow my neighbors' and my driveways and walks.
Five-and-a-half hours later I finished, and my feet were still dry and warm.
Product fits well, is very breathable, and is well-engineered. I'd certainly purchase again.

Comments about REI Havenpass Gaiters:
Great product to use in deep powder snow or snow that you know that your feet will be breaking through and be submerged more then ankle deep. It keeps my feet significantly warmer as compared to when I am not wearing gators in the snow. Works fairly well for water crossing, not 100 percent water-proof, but as long as you keep moving through deeper water then your feet will stay dry. I plan on adding some weather strip from a car to help seal it up just to see how water-proof I can make it.

Comments about REI Havenpass Gaiters:
I continue to be impressed with the breathability of eVent, and these gaiters are no exception. They performed significantly better than my previous two sets in that regard.
The fit is excellent, multi-adjustable via Velcro tabs and seams. They seem to run a tad small, but I'm guessing a bit there - if you're between the S/M and the L/XL, I would size up.
Good features, they seem to be durable and well made.

Comments about REI Havenpass Gaiters:
These are my third gaiters. I mostly never go out without them, so I end up abusing my gaiters. These gaiters will not have to worry about the cactus like my last gaiters. I will be wearing them up in the Cascade Mountains. They are nice and light weight but still provide the protection needed. These gaiters are thinner so I won't be able to use them in the southwest Utah like my last ones.

Comments about REI Havenpass Gaiters:
These are only missing one thing. Something at the top and bottom to keep the Velcro from coming undone. Otherwise, these worked flawlessly on my snowshoe outing.
