REI Members get back an estimated $ 5.50 on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

The North Face Etip Apex Gloves - Men'sis rated3.6out of5by5.
Rated4out of5byfromNice fit and feel, not too warmNice gloves, but they do not keep the hands warm below freezing. I used them for cross-country skiing and after an hour in 25 degree weather my hands were very cold. Best use is driving and walking in above 30 degree temperature.

Rated4out of5byfromwarm enoughPurchased these to replace the liners in a pair of REI snowsport mittens where the 10 year old liners were becoming worn out. They work well, are warm enough, fit correctly, and work my iDevice. The fingers are somewhat bulky, and I won't be doing a lot of typing, but for on the chairlift texts, they are perfect. If I get sweaty, they dry quickly. Overall, I am happy with my choice.

Rated4out of5byfromBest gloves I've ever owned!I've been pretty picky about my gloves... I usually buy a new pair every year or so because I'm never happy with them... If they're fleece the wind cuts through them, if they're more of a shell-like material then they aren't warm enough, if they're warm they're too bulky but if they're lightweight then they're too cold... This pair has the perfect balance where they are windproof so the fleece keeps your hand warm since the wind can't blow through it, and they aren't too bulky either. Granted I've only worn them in temps only as low as the teens & 20's on a couple cold Seattle mornings and many times in the 30's-40's including hours at a time outdoors at Seahawks games... not sure how they'd do in regular temps in the teens or lower, or in snow. The Etip is definitely nice so you can operate your phone without taking off your glove, but the location of the Etip material is less than ideal so you kind of have to think about how you're using your finger... If the material was more around the tip/side of the finger instead of only the pad of the finger, this would be 5-star for sure... But compared to a glove without Etip and you'd have to take your glove off, this is a fantastic glove.

Rated3out of5byfromTexting tips leakI had the previous version of these gloves (without the texting tips) and liked them better. The texting tips add more seams and more places for water to leak in. I like to use these gloves for shoveling snow in the sleet and bicycling in the rain in the wintertime. But, when the fingers leak there's not much point. They are still windproof and that is helpful.

Rated3out of5byfromGood - but not for really cold weatherThese gloves were really warm in the store, but as soon as I got outside my fingers got cold. Anything below 40 degrees and my hands feel cold if I am just walking around. However, when I use them for running my hands warm up after about 10 minutes (in 20 degree weather). They were really nice for nasty weather - I used them on an hour long hike in 40-50 mph winds and driving rain and my hands felt very comfortable (it was about 45-50 degrees). The etip works pretty well - no problem with getting it to function with an iPhone. The finger tips are clumsy, but it does work.
