Comments about Ergon GP5-L Grips - Large:

As stated these offer a variety of hand grips, including out of the saddle use. Only the outer side of the handle has a bolt so the grip must be fully on the handle to tighten securely. I had to move the brake and shifter inward to accommodate it. The angle of the two pieces that form each grip is adjustable- until the bolt is tightened. I opted for a mirror that clips onto sunglasses, a bit cheaper than the helmet mirrors. These grips and pedal straps/clips are a must for long rides!

Comments about Ergon GP5-L Grips - Large:

I bought these to replace the stock grips on my hybrid bike. They are very comfortable and give at least half a dozen different hand positions. Both the hand grip and bar end are separately adjustable with the same bolt using an allen key. They are a little firmer than one other ergonomic grip on the market, but with a little more firmness and the pattern on the grip you get better control. Much more comfortable than a metal bar end.
By themselves they won't alleviate hand numbness. IMHO you need to first adjust the seat so it is level or tip a bit up so that you aren't supporting your weight on your hands. You also need to change positions frequently.
For years I used a bar end mirror for riding in traffic, but there is no way to attach a mirror unless it is to the grip itself. You can't use a bar end mirror; so either do without or attach one to your helmet or glasses.
      Overall an excellent upgrade.
