    • NOW PLAYING

Celebrating 30 years of Novara bikes, our new Trenta road bike offers a fun, speedy and spirited ride that's just as suited to long days in the saddle on a fondo as it is to lively lunch rides.

    • Built to offer all-day comfort without compromising responsiveness or speed, the Trenta features lightweight, dependable wheels, Shimano Ultegra components and a solid frame
    • Lightweight frame features butted, hydroformed tubes and offers a tuned, lively ride quality with a geometry that balances all-day comfort, agile handling and responsiveness
    • Fork boasts a tapered alloy steerer with a machined, 1-piece alloy crown for strength and stiffness where it counts; carbon legs help damp road vibrations and reduce weight
    • Tapered steerer enhances stiffness and responsiveness for confident, precise handling
    • Shimano Ultegra shifters and rear derailleur (with 105 front derailleur) offer light-action, precise shifts throughout the 20 gear combinations
    • FSA Gossamer Pro compact crankset and 11-28 cassette ensure you've got the right gearing for the task at hand, be it a challenging climb or a fiesty town sign sprint
    • Slim-profile, standard reach caliper brakes ensure responsive, powerful braking for subtly shaving off speed in the group or dumping mph's coming into a hairpin on a descent
    • Lightweight Novatec wheels feature a semi-aerodynamic profile, weight-saving low spoke count and long-lasting, smooth-spinning performance thanks to sealed cartridge bearings
    • Clement Strada LGG tires have a slightly textured center tread with a more-pronounced shoulder tread for good all-around traction and low rolling resistance
    • Please note: pedals are not included
    • Specs on our Novara Trenta bike are subject to change

This bike is great value-for-money, extremely comfortable, and holds its own with bikes costing much more. A solid ride!

Comments about Novara Trenta Bike - 2013:

I ride several centuries every season and consider myself a fairly avid rider. My last bike, an '05 Marin Verona, finally gave out and it was time for a new bike. I was pumped to find the Trenta at its price point with the components it has. I test rode it and a Scott Speedster 20. I was surprised to find the shifting on the Scott much more smooth despite the step down in some components. After speaking with the tech I agreed that the shifting would work out and went with the Trenta.
I was back in the shop after the first ride and they replaced the chain. Apparently the Whiperman chain often skips on the 11 cog due to the way it links. No problems in regards to that since. Now it's just a matter of fine-tuning the derailluer.
On the good side, the bike is quite light. I have a large that weighed in at 18.4 before pedals and extras. Not bad for an Al based frame!
It handles well on the road and corners much more responsively than my last bike. It's a softer ride as well.
It responds well when you stomp on the cranks and I have already improved several times on Strava.
Overall it's a good bike. As long as the derailluers adjust out, it will be perfect. I'm hopeful as all the other reviews say it shifts like a dream.

Comments about Novara Trenta Bike - 2013:

I am just getting into the sport and I love it! I had been shoping around quite a bit to find the best bike for the best price. I could not find a better deal than this bike. Everything that was close in comparison was $200 to $500 more. I took this bike out on a 50 mile ride two days after getting it. It shifted super smooth and performed wonderfully, plus it is a very nice looking bike. There are some minor adjustments that will have to be made with the higher gears and the rear brake, but that will be taken care of in the one FREE tune up REI does for the new bikes they sell. The seat isn't the greatest, but that doesn't bother me too much. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

Comments about Novara Trenta Bike - 2013:

Novara shows that after 30 years they really know their stuff. Side by side it looks like a Strada with a better paintjob, but ride them for a bit up and you can see where the money went.

Since Purchase I've put 300 or so miles on this and could not be more happy, this was my first Transition to a true "Road Bike" and I may never ride my old Surly to work ever again. It's even inspired me to start participating in a few local/club races.

This bike sits on my rack, just begging to be ridden, and I'm more than happy to oblige. If you're looking for a great aluminium frame road bike, I can all but guarantee you won't be disappointed with the Trenta. be careful though, if you weren't already you just may get hooked on cycling.

Comments about Novara Trenta Bike - 2013:

I don't frequently contribute reviews but this bike really impresses me and was quite the bargain. I was a little skeptical of a "store brand" bike, but agree with the other reviewer on all counts. I was surprised to find Ultegra components and what seems to be a very solid and well-put-togther ride with very nice finishes. This is my first bike upgrade since my 2001 Specialized Allez which was phenomenal at the time, but for my needs the Trenta is really a much better fit. I love the geometry which is much more comfortable for my 47 year old back during long commutes, without sacrificing performance. This thing is fast, and I have shaved some serious time off of my commute. The carbon forks are great but take a little getting used to if you haven't had them before, they are very light and responsive, and shift weight back just a bit. Hitting potholes or bumps on the path remind you the carbon forks are there, and you have to be mindful that the front wheel lifts and moves around quite easily, but am getting used to this quickly. Can't speak to the durability of the stock Clement Strada LGG tires just yet, but they seem grippy enough and provide Kevlar puncture protection. I will likely replace the seat but that's about the only thing, am loving everything else on the bike. The 20% off coupon made this a no-brainer, just over $1,200 with the discount, allowing me to spend up on decent pedals and other accessories. Oh, and I ordered mine for home delivery and when it arrived it was damaged so I took it to an REI store and received a replacement bike from stock and was out of the store in 20 minutes. That kind of policy and customer service counts a lot in my book, will continue shopping REI for my bike and outdoor needs.

Comments about Novara Trenta Bike - 2013:

Let me tell you first that I originally was going to purchase a Specialized Allez Race 105 bike which comes with a complete Shimano 105 set up for about $200 more than this one. That was until I saw the Novara Trenta on REI's web site... this bike has ULTEGRA components, yes i said that correctly ULTEGRA, and just so u know I weighed the bike when I got home and is weighs 20.3 Lbs (and that is the LARGE size), that is over a pound lighter than the Specialized bike. This bike is AWESOME. I got it a couple of days ago and went for my very first ride yesterday and I cant say enough great things about it. It moves so beautifully and shifts like a dream... and don't be worried about the grip tape being white because its stain resistant. You will not be disappointed in this one. Trust me you want a bike that you cant stop looking at (that way you'll ride it all the time)... that is this bike, its better looking in person than on the web site. One last thing with the 20% coupon I was able to get the Trenta and a Garmin 510 kit for less than the Specialized bike and unlike Specialized or any other manufacture my bike is GUARANTEED FOREVER (got to love the REI guarantee)!!!!! THANK YOUR REI!! now stop reading this and buy the bike already!!!
