I have several pair of Salomon shoes and they've fit consistently and comfortably, but these were not either. They are really narrow and rigid. I wanted to try them since they are waterproof but they went right back.

Just received these in the mail and was surprised by how narrow and small they feel. I have another pair of Salomon lightweight hikers that I love, and ordered the same size in these. The fit is extremely different. My old Salomons were comfy right out of the box and felt very roomy even in the toe box. These shoes were so tight in the toe box that I didn't dare take them even on a short hike; I returned them immediately. I assumed that sizing would be consistent among Salomon's shoes and took a chance on ordering these through the mail. I suggest trying these on in the store first.
Another minor issue but it's not a deal breaker: the sole of this shoe will not accept a gaiter strap. If you need gaiters with your hikers and your gaiters have an under-strap, these shoes won't be compatible.
But they're a great looking shoe and very lightweight. I like the gusseted tongue and the lacing system is quick and efficient.
