      I am a dedicated Salomon purchaser (trail running shoes, mountaineering boots, ski boots [x-c and back country] so these were extremely disappointing. My hips hurt immediately and my metatarsils hurt after each run. I added after-market arch support to take up the space, but that didn't help. I find the Salomon XA Pro 3 or 4 to be much better in terms of fit and stability. Same lacing system and contagrip support, but I will never stray again!

        I bought my usual 7.5 shoe size, but these looked much bigger than my other 7.5 shoes when I got home. I was tempted to return them for a half size smaller, but after wearing them on a long walk decided they felt great! I have a wide foot and am often bothered by narrow shoes, and feel that I'll have room to wear warm socks with them in cold weather and have ample room for swollen feet in hot weather. They are VERY comfortable right now w/medium socks in mild Portland weather. Happy to have waterproof for regular walking/hiking in the wet or rainy conditions.

            I loved my 2012 version of this shoe. Tried this year's model in two sizes and took both back. Then I found one pair of last year's model in my size on Amazon and bought it. Please make a larger toe bed next year. If you don't, I will never get to wear Solomon shoes again.

            They were my favorite hiking shoes.

              I wore these on a strenuous hike in the Big Sur area without breaking them in much ahead of time. They were comfortable from the get-go. I love the "laces". First time I've experienced this kind. I look forward to wearing them on the Camino de Santiago in the fall.

                Try on at the store!

                Loved my old pair! Lasted for 1.5 years of trail use. With the new pair, there's a problem with the cushioning around the ankle so it's hard and bulged out, cutting into my heel/ankle after about 1 mile on a moderate uphill trail.
