The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byVA outdoors enthusiastfromMy feet love these shoes!I bought these for a 4-day/40-mile backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. From the moment I put them on, my feet loved them...and that doesn't happen often. I have slightly narrow feet and need a lot of arch support; while these do have a large toe box, the lacing system (which is fantastic) kept them tight enough in the middle of my foot to ensure I could enjoy the extra toe space without blisters from too much movement. I usually use the green inserts for arch support but these were good enough for me to move back to the less-intense pink ones. These shoes made my trip -- very lightweight, breathable, and super in water (drained well). I was one of the only people in the group to come back with no blisters or other foot problems, although as others have noted, these shoes do accumulate sand/dirt (as did everyone else's trail shoes on the trip I was on.) I subsequently bought two more pairs at the REI sale, which made me feel very lucky but indicates that they aren't necessarily for everyone.
I usually wear a 7-1/2 or 8; I bought these in an 8-1/2, which might be a little tiny bit big but not enough to matter. I would recommend erring a half size large if unsure, especially if likely to wear with thick socks.

Rated1out of5byRipley OutdoorsfromUncomfortable and I returned themI wore these once. I had pain that felt like abrasion on the inside of my arch. I also had pain in the heel and the start of blisters/abrasion on the outside of my little toe even though these shoes are wide in the toe box. I have a lower arch and mild pronation. These shoes were not an appropriate fit for my feet and running style. I returned them and then bought a pair of Mizuno Ascends elsewhere. I had no trouble with those.

Rated4out of5bySue try adventuresfromGreat Shoe for my needsI needed a shoe with motion control, I over pronate significantly. With my own inserts, this shoe works well for trail running, rugged walking and as my biking shoe. I wish it had a bit more cushioning for my feel. I find it helpful to wear a heavy sock with these shoes. I also have a narrow width foot, so I have to adapt most shoes unless they come in a narrow width or run narrow, neither of which is true for this shoe.

Rated3out of5byRigellfromSalomon changed the fitI've been a devoted Saloman wearer for over 5 years and have loved them. I walk and hike a lot, and buy a new pair every 500 miles (3-4 months). I buy Gore-Tex in the winter and non-waterproof in the summer. I most commonly purchase the XA Comp models, but have also purchased Wings and Pro. For the first time ever, I don't like a Salomon shoe - the XA Comp 7. The toe box is cramped, even after I bought a half size bigger than usual. I am so disappointed that Salomon ruined a great shoe by changing the last, and I'm disappointed in REI for not carrying the Pro series. So I'm stuck with these cramped XA Comp 7's until new models come out this fall.

Rated4out of5bymtnrunnermomfromLove my Salomon Trail Running ShoesI have been wearing Salomon trail running shoes for a very long time and I love them. They have a roomy toe box, extra protection on the front to protect my toes on rocky trails, great traction, and the lacing system can't be beat. Good quality at a reasonable price.
