Vivobarefoot Neo Trail-Running Shoes - Women'sis rated4.2out of5by5.
Rated4out of5byfromWide enough! The first shoes I have ever had that actually fit my wide forefoot and don't slip in the heel. No toe banging. But...I guess I'm not a genuine barefoot shoe running gal. My run felt really difficult compared to running in shoes with a slight rise in the heel. Almost like I was going backwards! Still, I love the feel and wear them for my work as a personal trainer and in other casual settings.

Rated4out of5byfromcute, too shortI got these shoes to try out the barefoot running approach. Sadly, I couldn't because they were too short. I am usually a 10-10.5 Med or Wide in running shoes (I have 11s in Brooks Cascadia as my trail running shoes right now). I got the 41 and the width was great, but they fit like a 9.5-10. Just too small. Super cute. I would like if the sole of the shoe had a little more division between forefoot and back, like a seam where the arch is, just for flexibility and style- very flat, which I understand they are meant to be.

Rated4out of5byfromStiffer barefoot shoeI bought these because I had the Vivo Neo Running shoes which are a very minimalist shoe. They have plenty of room for your feet to get the barefoot experience. But the soles on the Neos were too thin for my taste. You feel everything. So I thought I would try the Neo Trail. These have a much thicker and stiffer sole. It's nice to not feel every pebble when you running. But the Neo Trail does make you feel disconnected from the ground. And the rubber that the soles are made of feel very hard. I do prefer them as a intermediate minimalist shoe, but I think the rubber could be a softer.

Rated4out of5byfromexcellent minimalist trail shoeI run in five-fingers in the summer, but winter's too cold for them, so I've tried quite a few other shoes for wintertime. I ran in these all winter, putting a heavy wool sock on for warmth. They are very nice- comfortable, allow you to run barefoot style, and you can feel the ground well yet run across gravel without pain; they have excellent traction. The only drawback is they aren't water resistant at all; if they were fully waterproof they would be perfect. They appear to be fairly durable- they survived a winter of heavy use in all kinds of weather and over all kinds of terrain just fine.

Rated5out of5byfromMade my leg pain go awayI suffer from chronic pain, and one recommendation I'd received was to spend as much time as possible barefoot. So I figured I'd try "barefoot" shoes. The difference was immediate. The pain in my legs--my constant companion--disappeared. (And if I go back to my old shoes, it comes back.) I am not a runner and I don't go to the gym. I do enjoy hiking, however. And I was pleased to find that these shoes delievered! I wore them the entire time I was at Bryce Canyon and Zion Nat'l Parks. The terrin can be steep and slippery at times, and signs warn hikers to wear boots. I was glad that I had NOT worn boots, but rather these barefoot shoes. I found that I could use my whole foot to "grip" the trail, making me safer and less prone to injury. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about these shoes. The only drawback is that I'm short and all of my pants have been hemmed to my old shoe height. Now my cuffs are dragging the ground again. Still, it's worth it.
