      I've tried several other pairs of running socks before splurging on these. It was hard for me to swallow $15 for one pair, but these are now the only socks I'll wear on any run longer than 5 miles. They are thickly cushioned on the forefoot and heel and do a great job of keeping my foot comfortably in place. The rest of the sock is thin and lets your foot cool off well. Lastly, in regards to the other review, I've not experienced any "pilling" after about a dozen washes.

        I normally love Thorlo socks, and that is the only thing that got these socks the 2 star rating rather than one. The instep is made of some odd nylon-type fabric and the socks are seriously pilling after the first wash. They almost look like they are inside out. On the plus side, they are well-padded and are comfortable.
