Perfect on snow & on pavement

My primary reason for getting these pants was to stay warm in Minnesota winters while waiting for the bus--without the traditional look of puffy snowpants. They are great for this purpose! They are also perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, and other winter outdoor activities. They have some stretch to them, allowing a full range of motion. And I positively love that they come in a short length. I have a 29" inseam, and these do not drag on the wet ground.

If I'm going to be stationary while outdoors, I'll wear these over my pants. For more active pursuits, I wear them directly over long underwear. I suspect they are too warm for highly aerobic activities like XC skiing.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
