Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Spyridon Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
Bought shoes for recent trip to Hawaii. Were perfect for beach walking, as well as road walking through town. Only complaint is they get real smelly after being in the ocean - guess you just have to wash them after each wear.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Spyridon Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I needed a pair of shoes that would provide stability in the sandy and uneven terrain of the desert. I didn't want to wear hiking boots, but also didn't want to lose my footing/balance and twist an ankle with sneakers because of the sand. I walk my dogs out in the desert and need to be protected from cholla/cactus spikes, rocks, glass, etc. These shoes work perfectly. They have a mountain bike tire like tread on the sole that really deflects the sharpness of rocks better than my bikilas (which are my favorite shoes). These are perfect for non-paved areas. I wear them with socks to further protect my feet from sand etc. I had tried the Spyridon LS and did not like them. I much perfer the snug fit of the pull-on Spyridons. These are great year round, and seem to be holding up quite well for all the wear and tear I put them through!

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Spyridon Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I purchased these shoes specifically to use when competing in Dog Agility, which requires me to run and to stop and turn and change directions. Regular sneakers and socks always feel too hot and tight on my feet. I've been delighted with how comfortable these are, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that although I was told that they do NOT provide much support, in fact, my back feels better when I wear them compared to other full support shoes. Now I only wish I could find a pair with comparable traction in a different (but still jazzy!) color palette!

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Spyridon Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I am a huge VibramFiveFingers fan, and I would wear them every day all day if I could get away with it. My other two pairs are a classic and a Jaya LR, which I wear constantly. I was looking for a more durable pair for hiking, and these Spyridons seemed to fit the bill. I wasn't a fan of the look of the lace-up Spyridons, and I really liked the color on these, so as soon as they were available, I ordered.
They are much more rugged than my other two pairs, and the sole is much thicker and obviously built more for treking and trail running than my husband's KSOs. The big toe seems a tad smaller than on my Jayas and Classics, even though I followed the Vibram sizing, but as long as I keep my toenail short it works okay. There is no way I'm getting these on with my Injinjis, though. So far, no rubbing issues, but I haven't worn them for any major distances yet so I may not be the best judge.
I really only have one major complaint about them, but it affects everything about the shoe and is why I can only give 3 stars instead of 5. The adjustable "hook and loop closure" (velcro band), and the attached strap that loops around the ankle is much, much too short and not at all stretchy. I have very small feet--I wear a size 6 in womens, and I can get into 5.5 in a pinch--and I have never come across a strap this short on a shoe before. I can barely get the two velcro parts to even touch, let alone hold securely, when I'm wearing the shoes. It also make the shoe pretty uncomfortable if I do pull it so tight that the velcro is stuck on tight enough. And, it makes the shoes very hard to get on, since the ankle loop doesn't stretch, and to get them on you have to pull the velcro through its loops as far as it will go. At first I thought I was doing something wrong, but my husband looked at them too and couldn't figure out a way to make the strap longer. I'm thinking I'll have to jury-rig something here with some stick-on velcro strips, or just cut the entire strap off altogether.
I wish there was a way to say "yes, I would recommend these to a friend, with one caveat."
