      I went back to Minnesota in the middle of winter and got the coldest weather in four years. Being from the Bay Area, California, I had never truly experienced wind chill. This jacket was perfect, and kept me so warm that I noticed every thing that wasn't covered with it. Loud red color made me stand out a little too.

        This jacket has performed very well in several outdoor settings that included high and gusting wind. It kept me more than warm (I layered underneath). The chest pocket is perfect for a cell phone or similar device and the inside "mesh pockets" are perfect for a small notebook, slim camera or extra gloves/hat. The only "con" would be that the hood doesn't have any sort of tie down strap and can sometimes get in the way. But, overall the many pros outweigh this one issue.

        This is a great jacket for the money. I wear it daily with a hoody or cotton sweater everyday here in ohio, down to the high teens at night. My body runs really cold, I'm pretty slim, anyone else could probably do without the sweater in the 20's. It does block the wind well, I've only been out in the rain a few times with it, and it kept me dry and warm.
        Tons of pockets, the mesh pocket is awesome! There is a hole for headphone cords, but I find it unnecessary.
        My only complaints are weight (its on the heavy side, but that is to be expected with synthetic insulation) And the hood, if I zip it all the way to the nose, its really tight against my chin and mouth. That could just be my body type though.

        I wouldn't recommend this jacket to anyone who lives further north, or anyone to use it in the winter in the mountains. But during the winter, I usually backpack in the midwest where the lows rarely drop below 10 degrees F, and it has been working great for me
