I love this jacket. I was a little hesitant at first to buy it but it is my go-to jacket now. I wear it for everything from going out to dinner to running a 10K! I have hiked, biked, ran, and climbed in it and it has performed beautifully. It has panels along the sleeves and oblique areas that stretch and give so mobility is no problem. It is warm for chilly days and breaths well. I imagine on pure wind or rain days it will not be that great but in light rain and light wind it does great...even light snow is no problem. I recommend this jacket for all your activities short of ascending Everest.

So I love North Face and I was looking for a lighter water resistant jacket that would work for hiking, running, etc that also had a hood. It had the styling, feel, comfort and texture I was looking for and better than anything else in its price point.

I really liked the jacket until i tried to zip it up all the way without wearing the hood. The zipper was not well housed and rubbed against my face making it very uncomfortable. Plus, zipping it up while hood is down led to near choking conditions. this made it impossible to consider on colder excursions or moving at a jogging pace. Then, after only 2 weeks I noticed that the fleece material on the cuffs and hips were begining to pill. That drives me crazy and, IMO, a sign of poor workmanship and quality.

If the hood, zipper and pilling dont bother you you will LOVE this jacket but key features failing made this a no go.
