- The insulated section of the men's REI Airflyte Hybrid jacket extends from the hem to the collar, and it does not include the sleeves or side panels
- Insulated section features a Durable Water Repellent finish and resists wind to 55 mph

Bought this for my husband for Christmas and he couldn't successfully zip or unzip once. There is too much fabric behind the zipper and it catches. We were really bummed, because if it weren't for this one con I think it'd be a great running jacket.

I happened to come across this in my local store and decided to research it using the REI app while I was shopping to see if other colors were available. I decided to read the reviews, which looked good except for the complaints about the zipper. I tried it on and didn't have a problem with the zipper, so I figured it must have been corrected. Nope. During my first time wearing it after buying it, I got to work and couldn't unzip the zipper unless I stuck my hand down the neck and held the zipper straight to release the extra fabric (from the windflap) for it to unzip. Other than this design problem (which I trust REI will correct with the next version), the jacket is fantastic - versatile, light, warm, stylish - everything you typically expect from an REI product!

This looks like a well-constructed jacket that would keep me warm running through Vermont winters. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to try it out. The inner storm flap behind the zipper repeatedly got hung up in the zipper, finally causing me to take the jacket off over my head since it would not unzip. I'm returning it for a refund, and will look for another warm shell to run in. Another reviewer noted the same problem with this jacket. Hopefully REI will get this jacket's zipper design straightened out, as the rest of the jacket looks like it will function the way it is designed to.

I was looking for a lightly insulated jacket for cold weather runs (<25 degrees) and this jacket fit the bill perfectly. I just completed a run in 25 degree sun and 15 mph wind (15 degree wind chill) with only a base layer - Patagonia Cap 3 and this jacket over it. It worked outstanding - core was warm and no bulky sleeves or restricted arm movement. I am 6'2" and 195 lbs and the large was a good fit. I could use maybe one extra inch in length, but the jacket did not seem short.
I did not experience the zipper issue that the previous reviewer described.
If you are looking to keep putting the miles on in cold conditions, the Ariflyte is a good investment, especially for the price.

Very disappointed with this. Looked great, felt great. But the zipper was always getting caught and ultimately broke. The fabric under the zipper seemed too long so it got hung up. Zipper finally broke off after getting stuck repealptedly. Ended up in the trash after only three wearings.
