The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
This jacket is my commuter jacket. It's Hi-Viz for starters. It has pockets, which many biking jackets lack. It converts to a vest easily. Overall it's a decent jacket for the money.
It's not waterproof. In a good rain, you'll get soaked. The upside is that it's breathable and you wouldn't want to loose that feature.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
was looking for a jacket that was light and very breathable so that it would keep me warm from the wind but at the same time not make me hot mid way through my exercise.
This jacket is perfect to keep the wind away and the heat out. The sleeves can detach but the design makes it so that they don't fully enclose the armpit area. Its simply overlaps and is attached in a few points to leave as much gaps as possible to let the body heat vent. The overlap of the fabric allows heat from the inside to go out and keeps the wind from the outside from coming in.
Its hard to explain but it really works. Note that this is water resistant but not waterproof. Don't think you can ride out in the rain and stay dry. Its SUPER thin and light.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
I bought this jacket because I have a Burley that's heavier duty and well-suited to wet weather: I wanted something lighter for morning rides in mild California weather. I love the versatility of being to zip off the sleeves when I'm climbing and putting them back on for windy stretches and descents. The jacket is very light and comfortable, and sleeves are easy to remove and attach. They fit easily into the rear pocket. This jacket suits my needs perfectly, as I like to ride in the morning when the weather is in the high 40s to low 50s at the start and then warming into 60s/70s.

Fit is just right - not as tight as some other cycling jackets. Zipper pockets, reflective, durable weave, hidden iPod pocket, warm in 50 degrees with just a short sleeve shirt. Easy off sleeves convert easily to vest.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
This is a nice jacket that appears to be very well made and durable. I will probably never zip off the sleeves, but I was looking for a good cool-weather jacket.
Despite the substantial-feeling material, it is not particularly warm, and if the temp is below about 40 degrees, you'll probably want a long-sleeve base layer. For colder weather, I would want a jacket with adjustable hook-and-loop wrist cuffs.
So far I have worn it in light to moderate rain showers and the water resistance is impressive.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
I commute 10 miles to work early in the morning, and then 12 miles back home in the afternoon. This jacket has been great. I leave the sleeves on to fight off the early morning chill, then stow them in the back pocket of the bright yellow vest on my way home so I can keep the high visibility on the road without overheating. If it gets too hot for a vest, the whole thing packs up nicely in its own pocket and I can stash it in my bag or in a jersey pocket.
It blocks the wind very well, but vents well too, so it doesn't feel like I'm wearing a trash bag like some other jackets out there.
The only downside is that the only one in my size had a small mark on the collar just above the sleeve zipper that I didn't notice until I got it home. Over time, it's picked up a few small spots from road grime, etc, and the stains do not come out easily. Not a deal breaker, though. You can't see the stains unless you're looking at it very closely.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
I ride mostly rail trails in PA and MD with some occasional roads into the city; approximately 70 miles per week. What I was looking for was a reasonably priced jacket that was lightweight, had high visibility, and could prevent the cold morning wind from getting through (I ride as low as 35 degrees and the windchill gets pretty bad). This jacket did everything I was looking for it to do. Also I needed the pockets for keys/credit card/driver's license, plus the chest pocket for my phone; when I ride alone and not on the roads I listen to music via my iPhone and wear bluetooth earbuds. Today I rode with the sleeves zipped off because it got up to about 80 degrees. It's a very nice option to be able to convert it into a vest.

Bought this on sale, once or twice reduced. For the money, it's a great jacket-- the convertable aspect of it is great. On a recent ride, I wore it to warm up, took off the sleeves, and the vest provided me with the perfect amount of exposure until I hit extended downhills on the BRP.
Good stuff!
