Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
This is a nice jacket that appears to be very well made and durable. I will probably never zip off the sleeves, but I was looking for a good cool-weather jacket.
Despite the substantial-feeling material, it is not particularly warm, and if the temp is below about 40 degrees, you'll probably want a long-sleeve base layer. For colder weather, I would want a jacket with adjustable hook-and-loop wrist cuffs.
So far I have worn it in light to moderate rain showers and the water resistance is impressive.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
I commute 10 miles to work early in the morning, and then 12 miles back home in the afternoon. This jacket has been great. I leave the sleeves on to fight off the early morning chill, then stow them in the back pocket of the bright yellow vest on my way home so I can keep the high visibility on the road without overheating. If it gets too hot for a vest, the whole thing packs up nicely in its own pocket and I can stash it in my bag or in a jersey pocket.
It blocks the wind very well, but vents well too, so it doesn't feel like I'm wearing a trash bag like some other jackets out there.
The only downside is that the only one in my size had a small mark on the collar just above the sleeve zipper that I didn't notice until I got it home. Over time, it's picked up a few small spots from road grime, etc, and the stains do not come out easily. Not a deal breaker, though. You can't see the stains unless you're looking at it very closely.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
I ride mostly rail trails in PA and MD with some occasional roads into the city; approximately 70 miles per week. What I was looking for was a reasonably priced jacket that was lightweight, had high visibility, and could prevent the cold morning wind from getting through (I ride as low as 35 degrees and the windchill gets pretty bad). This jacket did everything I was looking for it to do. Also I needed the pockets for keys/credit card/driver's license, plus the chest pocket for my phone; when I ride alone and not on the roads I listen to music via my iPhone and wear bluetooth earbuds. Today I rode with the sleeves zipped off because it got up to about 80 degrees. It's a very nice option to be able to convert it into a vest.

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
Bought this on sale, once or twice reduced. For the money, it's a great jacket-- the convertable aspect of it is great. On a recent ride, I wore it to warm up, took off the sleeves, and the vest provided me with the perfect amount of exposure until I hit extended downhills on the BRP.
Good stuff!

Bought it 11/25/2012
Went for a ride 11/26/2012
45 degrees 4 mph wind.
1 shirt and 1 long sleeve shirt under the jacket.
Perfect ride I was warm the whole time but not soaked in sweat!
This is a WIND breaker. Does just that kick the winds as at 35mph air speed.
Haven't tried it rain.
Won't try it in rain. The material is too thin for rain. It is not meant to be for rain use.
But a light drizzle for 10 miles or less I would imigine you would be fine.
If you want a great wind breaker that will keep you warm. That converts into a vest, this jacket is perfect! For $40 it would get 5*****

Comments about Novara Conversion Bike Jacket - Men's:
I bought this jacket a year ago, even before I bought my road bike. Now that I commute to work and ride home in the dark, I especially value the high visibility yellow color and reflective silver seams.
The zippers have never given me any problems. The sleeves zip off, which makes the jacket double as a high visibility vest, as well as providing armpit ventilation.
I have broad shoulders although I'm only 5-8, 165. The Large fits me perfectly--not tight in the shoulders, room for a fleece jacket underneath, not baggy in the torso, and sleeves are perfect length.
Inside there is a vertical pocket which I find perfect for holding my headband. It's easy to retrieve while cycling and never falls out.
I also wear the jacket cross country skiing and hiking on days when a long sleeve shirt or light fleece is all you need. Very warm.
The only possible con is that the collar sticks up when it's unzipped, partially blocking my view in my helmet-mounted rearview mirror. But this isn't a fault of the jacket.

Zipper does not work very well. Splits open often although appears to be zipped properly. Wish I would have purchased a better quality windbreaker.
