Comments about Patagonia Pow Slayer Shell Bib Pants - Men's:
Powder Slayer Bib feedback:I purchased these bibs for a heli trip in BC and in general had been looking for a good bib. Fit was a bit looser than I like, but they were very light weight and overall comfortable. Day one I realized a major issue, the gaiters did not fit tightly around my ski boots. They were so loose that snow came up with ease and pretty much everywhere we stepped was knee deep so this caused me major problems in the back country. Could not have been more disappointed with Patagonia on this and myself for not checking before we were in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. The second day of the trip I had a small tear in the knee, so out came the duck tape. Patagonia also moved the loop for jackets to snap into to the middle, so now any snow skirt on the jacket you owned with clips on the side can't clip in. For a company that prides themselves in long lasting goods and not wasting what you have, it's odd that they make new products that won't work with their old ones.... Lastly, belt loops should have been on this product, especially since a lot of jackets won't clip to the bibs, if snow does get up over the bibs... and it does...., then a belt could prevent the snow from going down your legs and towards your boots, which already have snow in them due to the gaiters not fitting. A lot of potential here, but missed the boat by a mile on these. I guess the magazines that reviewed these and picked them as top gear never left the office to try them out.... Big fan of Patagonia, but couldn't be more disappointed with these. Luckily REI and Patagonia have the best customer service in the business, but it's just too bad I had to use that service. Dear Patagonia, when your ready to take another crack at these I am happy to help...
