      I find that this jacket is a great way to up the warmth of any of my favorite coats. It is not wind proof as stated in other reviews but I do find, at least here in the colder parts of the southeast, that it is great on a cold rainy day with my precip jacket over it. Very warm so I don't have to wear a bulky coat out. I wouldn't recommend as a coat by itself but it makes a great layer and I really dig the sleeve pocket. I get to it through the pit zips on the precip. Great for travel or camping as it is light weight too.

      When a typical norther blows through, with temperatures in the 30s or 40s and winds of 20 mph or higher, this jacket is almost completely useless. Otherwise, it is a nice piece of clothing. I purchased it on sale: it cost about 40% less than more substantial fleece jackets.
