Rated5out of5bySailer79fromGreat JacketVery fine jacket. The fleece lining is not that come with the jacket is not that warm and in this way the jacket is suitable for activities like cross country skiing. When one purchases and zips in a compatible down lining the jacket is suitable for very cold weather.

Rated5out of5bynicholasruizfromcity to slopes to suburban perfectionI purchased the Marmot Trient Jacket from REI the first week of December and returned it in mid-January after the zipper broke. I shopped around for a few weeks until destiny led me to a poorly organized REI sale rack where I stumbled upon the rather expensive but marked down Marmot Sidehill Component 3-in-1 Jacket. This jacket is awesome when commuting on the subway/train to work in cold/wet conditions and warm/sleek while on the slopes. When it gets too warm, the fleece comes out quickly and the waterproof shell does the job.
The jacket is a bit boxy and not as fitted as the Trient Jacket, but it's a great addition to my life and I highly recommend it.

Rated5out of5bycalisnow66fromGreat snowboarding Jacket!I love my Marmot jacket!! I've worn it snowboarding in a variety of conditions, and it has held up great in all (including aprox 0 degrees F with wind and snow). My only complaint is that I am not a fan of the hood, as its a bit small for my helmet to fit under. When the hood is zipped off, the collar is not as high as I would like. Otherwise, this jacket is fantastic!! This is a mens jacket, but I am a woman who finds that the mens gear is often better and more technical-- I'm very satisfied with deciding to buy this men's jacket this time around.

Rated5out of5byDee1fromGreat jacketHas a fleece inner liner combined with the othershell, that provides excellent protection from the elements. Fits great and smooth movement around the arms. Ample sized pit zips on the outer shell that control air flow and temp even when doing heavy activity on the trail. Tons of pockets is a plus. One on the left arm for easy access. Inner velcro pocket and mesh pockets. Powder skirt for more protection. Detachable rain hood that can be cinched in tigther around the head. Had a hat, headlamp and the hood on and felt no head movement restrictions.
The inner fleece liner can be unzipped and worn on its own. Has hand pockets and inside you can cinch the waist line tigher. Has an inner zip up chest pocket, very nice. Too bad no pit zips on the inner fleece liner.
Just had it up on a 8.5k ft mountain and was hit by a storm with snow, hail, rain, 30mph+ winds, & around 20degrees. Warm and protected. Bottom line, great buy and quality for its price range.
