The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

I just wanted to post a couple of pictures to show what it looks like inside. Oh, and the back has a removable/adjustable sternum strap. Hope this helps!

Comments about Timbuk2 Showdown Daypack:
Basically, I love this pack.
At one period of time in high school, I had an old daypack and then I switched to a laptop bag. The problem with laptop backpacks are that they're often very bulky and the laptop itself is hard to get to.
When I came across this bag whilst browsing around REI, I think I immediately fell in love. It's not too bulky (about 22 liters) but has an adequate amount of space to fit the essentials for school and work. I'm a short person, so most bags look like turtle shells on my back, but this is perfect for me. If you're thinking of hauling around your whole workspace or office, then this is not the pack for you. If you just want to take a couple of notebooks, your laptop, lunch, and a few essentials, then this is perfect.
The pockets in the front are very handy in organizing things well. The longer pocket is where I stash my power brick for my Macbook Pro 15''. The thing I like about the long pocket is that it's long enough to hold the cable so it doesn't look bulky. There are two small pockets in the front, one of which is lined with a soft material for cameras, phones, etc.
The straps on the bottom are very handy for yoga mats, jackets, or for making the bag compact when you don't have so much gear to lug around.
Having had this wonderful bag for about 5 months, I can attest to it's durability. It looks as if I'd just bought it yesterday. The zippers worried me at first, as they seemed a bit flimsy, but I haven't had any problems so far.
The only potential downside to this bag is that it isn't very waterproof. At first, it seemed like a huge downside to me, being in Seattle, but I quickly purchased a cheap, packable cover for the bag and it solved the problem immediately. Just something to keep in mind.
Overall, if you're looking for a stylish, functional, and comfortable bag, this is the one to get. If you want an extremely durable, tactile, large, and heavy-duty bag, you may want to look at other brands. I, personally, am completely satisfied with my purchase.
Thanks, Timbuk2!
