        I bought a lighter version of H.T.'s V-LITE TRAIL RUNNER approx 3 to 3 and 1/2 yrs. ago & wore them bald.Holes thru the mesh now makes them perfect for wet walks along the ocean.
        THIS PAIR:Used twice on one of San Diego Counties roughest hikes.11 miles, 4K elev. gain & loss.Horrible trail conditions.They are quite a bit beefier(and not to much heavier)than the above mentioned pair and this will make them more versatile.There is enough ankle support for me to get a full pack to base camp in the Sierra's..approx 3 miles.
        I expect to have trouble with the elastic tie up system.I plan to inject a bonding gel into center loop @ the bottom center because the elastic cord is stiched in there.I will concentrate not to stress that area when tightening up the laces.Also be aware those loops on the sides that the elastic lace passes thru can break. The benefits far outweigh the lace and loop problem.These shoes are STICKY.
        I ordered a pair today for when the ones I bought approx. 3 weeks ago expire.I choose the other color option. I doubt if I could get a Vibram resole for what I spent on the back-up pair today.
