These are some nice sturdy shoes. I can't say I fell in love with them from the pictures but they were on sale so I got them and boy am I glad I did. They look much more presentable in person and their hiking boot persona just adds a bit of ruggedness to an otherwise preppy casual look. To top it all off they are vey comfy. I have wide feet so I was a little worried of ordering a size 8 but it fits just fine. The shoes also appear much heavier than they are.

I was looking for shoes that I can wear semi-business casual with khakis for work. I like these shoes a lot because they are comfy and sort of dressy. They will go great with jeans in the winter. But I'm still not sure if I"m keeping them because the laces and rings they go through make the shoe too hiking boot looking, which doesn't go well with khakis. Also, it could be a pro or con, but the quality leather and construction make my feet kind of warm. The width is good for my narrow feet.

I was looking for a sturdy walking shoe that was not a gym shoe, for a European trip. This shoe has great traction, very sturdy and comfortable and I like the look of it. The first try-on almost made me return them - there is so much cushioning inside that the shoes felt small. However, keep them on for 5 minutes and your feet will settle in and from that point on, the fit really is true to size. I wear socks with medium thickness, without blisters. I recommend these shoes. I've worn them to work, social events, evenings, walks and could probably use them for hiking, but don't want to ruin them.
