    The REI Member Dividend

        Our child loves her horse helmet. She doesn't ride in traffic, but has hit her head falling off her bike and she was well protected. This is good for younger children who aren't going at high speeds. My nieces are getting new bikes for Christmas, and I will be getting them these helmets to go with the new bikes.

            This helmet is very well-liked by both of my boys (ages 7 and 4). They each have one. The helmet looks great too! The only down sides to it are that it tends to ride back on the wearer's head and that there is no visor in the front to protect from forward falls. I am happy with the purchase though! As are the children.

              I bought the suggested size for my son. It nearly fit, but there is no adjusting to this helmet at all and did not stay on very well. Sorry, you can adjust the chin strap but thats it...no internal adjustments. Not even any of the extra foam pieces. My son would not wear it. Its going back to REI and we are buying an adjustable helemt. They cost a few dollars more, but they are worth every penny. Helmets only provide protection if they are on your head.
