Comments about Seattle Sports Dry Doc Landing Pad:

Flimsy mounting system and bulky. Maybe useful for a beach cruiser. Not useful as a way to mount smartphone as a training device. Hard to tighten up, and not at all sleek. There has got to be a better way...Returning after tying on a couple of my bikes.

Comments about Seattle Sports Dry Doc Landing Pad:

Wish I had seen the other review before I bought this. The first one broke while installing it on my bike. I had to purchase a second one and then return the first one for a refund. Second one (treated with kid gloves, knowing how weak the plastic stem is) broke on my second ride. The plastic housing for the screw which controls side-to-side pivoting simply popped off in the middle of a ride, causing the platform to flop over. I have a road bike, so we are not talking about rough riding conditions.

Love love love the waterproof pouch; love being able to operate phone while it is protected in the pouch. Used the pouch (hung on a lanyard around my neck) while kayaking; worked great. Wish I could purchase that separately. However, the plastic used for this item is simply not meant for sports activities. Hadn't even had a chance to return the first one before the second one broke, so sending both broken units back for a full refund.

Comments about Seattle Sports Dry Doc Landing Pad:

I just purchased this item today at REI mall of Ga. Right out the box it felt good and sturdy, i like the quick release bike mount. It mounts fast and feels very durable. The bunjy cord for back up safety for if the device does fail is great ( guess the guy in the review above did not follow directions to hook that up.) It IS water proof and strong velcrow. I already recomended it to my brother.ALSO, am very excited that you can unscrew the phone mount and hook up a Go Pro Camera or any camera that can mount on a stand, tripod ect... I will do many rides this week and post how well it does with performance and hard riding.

This broke upon installation. I took it back to REI and the salesperson told me that they had just bought one and had it break in the same spot. two perople with the same breaks, I would say this is a quality issue.

Comments about Seattle Sports Dry Doc Landing Pad:

This seemed great at first (though when I mounted it the lack of instruction was annoying). Bag is waterproof. The velcro actually works pretty well. However, after 2 days of riding I noticed that I had to tightened the "bolts" on a regular basis. The bag, ripped after one week, and after 2 weeks one the plastic component failed sending my phone flying onto oncoming traffic: not nice. Retuned to REI. Too bad, if could have been great (did I mention that the manufacturer warns they are not responsible for the phone overheating while in the bags?)
