The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

I purchased this for dump camps for scouting and it is amazing! I have since purchased a few more in different sizes for backpacking and for my deployments with the federal government where packing light is extremely beneficial. Even the large size is still fairly light.

I use this everyday when I swim and after showers at gym. Dries you up pretty nicely, it is light weight to carry on bike if you do that kind of thing. It dries really quick even in MN weather keep it in car bring it in and it will dry up. I think it gets softer the more I wash it.

Comments about REI MultiTowel XX Large Towel - 59" x 36":
I have a variety of REI towels and absolutely love them. I use them every single time I travel and camp. This is more of a terry type of towel vs. other types REI has that are more chamois like. My primary reason for puchase was to have a more compact towel for use at the pool. It'll be fine.
Here's the not so great part of this towel. The instructions state to prewash separately. Knowing that my washer would continually be unbalanced I decided to hand wash it in the sink. I've never seen such profound color bleed in my life on any product. Nothing even comes close to the bleed factor this has. The color may be "treetop" but the color it creates in the sink could be called "seriously untreated swimming pool algae green." I literally had to rinse this over and over and over to get it to an acceptable level of washing with other items along with one of those color bleed washer sheets which turned out a more subtle shade of "algae".
I think REI needs to seriously consider doing the prewash before selling. Outside of this color bleeding problem I'm otherwise pleased. I would have preferred it in the more chamois fabric, but this will work fine.
Please, REI - prewash this product and all similar type of products.
