Comments about REI Dog Collar:
I bought this collar because of the mosaic blue pattern, which is a really great pattern for a male dog yet still bright for spring/summer. It is a very durable webbing which I prefer to patterned collars that have the ribbon sewn onto them. I have very active labradors that swim frequently, but they haven't worn this collar swimming yet. I am assuming it will wash up well. I am still trying to decide if I will keep this collar or take it back though because of it's awkward buckle design. You can see it in the immage. The buckle does not lay flat, making it an awkward fit. The plastic part where the collar doubles through also sticks out away from the dog's neck. I have a HUGE collar collection from all different brands and none have a fit quite like this collar. REI, change your buckle and this will be a great collar. I like the price too.

Comments about REI Dog Collar:
Guys, for an attachment point for ID tags, why not get a split key ring that's about the same diameter as the collar width and just "thread" it into the collar sleeve where the leash ring is attached? I've done this with similar nylon collars and it provides a sturdy ring for attaching tags...and it costs less than a dollar!

Comments about REI Dog Collar:
It is bulky, because of the large buckles; but it has really no attachment to hang license tags or identification medalions. The really small plastic thing (really for attaching dog poo bags to the leash) cannot serve for an active dog as it will wear through and you can loose the tag, rabies medalion and identification discs. That means you have to get another one, a waste of time and effort. And it is too small, in any event, to attach more than one of those things to the collar.

Comments about REI Dog Collar:
While it has a good price the collar is not very practical because it lacks a sound attachment for the dog's license and rabies medallions. The little plastic thing is there for what reason? While on the matching leash it serves the purpose of holding the dog do-do bags, but not on the collar. It is too flimsy as an attachment.
And the leash attachment while strong is just too big for the attachment. Sorry to say, it is not a practical collar but the leash is adequate.
