Comments about Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife:
It's a good knife and it's nice to have the flint striker included. I don't like the plastic piece that is attached to the lanyard of the knife bc it clinks alot against the plastic of the sheath and is VERY annoying. The sheath is kind of bulky and it doesn't attach easily to a pocket or hip. The knife is useful however and does make great ribbon sticks for fires.

Comments about Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife:
The other reviews covered all the great features of this knife + fire starter. I'll just reiterate what they say:
- knife is very well made, stays sharp, easy to sharpen
- really like the tactile feel and ergonomics of the handle
- fire starter is one of the better ones I have used
- sheath fit perfectly
- love the color, makes it easy to find when you drop it at night
At first, I though the way the fire starter fits into the handle would eventually lead to a lost knife, or lost fire starter. Nope. Never had a problem.
I'm going to buy one for each of my Scouts.

Comments about Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife:
Great knife, and very sharp. The built in fire starter is a nice feature, and makes this knife a very useful tool for camping, survival, etc.
Really only two drawbacks. First is the lanyard. The clasp really does nothing to keep it attached to the knife. Tie a not in it and throw the clasp away. Second, the sheath holds the knife in, but not super securely.

This is a great product. The blade is sharp and sturdy. The sheath clip is very handy and stays on firmly. I cleaned fish, made shavings, and started a fire with it! It is lightweight and the bright colors make it easy to see if dim light if you put it down!
I own about 10 different firestarters and this quickly went into my my always carry bag. I great choice!

Comments about Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife:
My first impression of this knife was that it was a really fancy ginsu steak knife. This is my first Mora knife, so I wasn't prepared for how useful this knife really is.
After wearing and using the knife around the house for two weeks now, I see just how good a knife this is.
First off, the quality of construction is top notch. The sheath is durable and useful. Really, it is the first sheath I didn't want to fiddle with. The blade, although shaped like a unserated steak knife, is very sharp, solid, and well suited for small and medium tasks. Light batoning is fine. The grip fits the hand well. The fire striker works fine, and secures well in the handle. My only complaint is the cord keeper on the lanyard fell off quickly, and doesn't secure well. I replaced it with a whistle cord keeper, giving me an extra rescue function.
This knife has earned a place in my day hike kit. It is ideally suited as a light weight survival tool. It joins my REI Flash 18 pack, SOL Survival Medic, AMK Medical Kit 3, 2 liter Platypus and boonie hat. Its a grab and go kit, where you just add water and munchies.
It I were to go on a serious hiking trip, this knife would still go with me, but a larger, beefier knife, or hatchet would come along too. Its utility is just to great to leave at home.

Comments about Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife:
I really like Mora's and I have several, so I was very excited about this product. Ordered one and got it last night. Opened up the packet, put the firesteel in the handle and then put my hand through the lanyard. The clasp on the end of the lanyard promptly fell off and I could not get it to stay on again. Ended up tying the string in a knot.
On to the blade. I am used to a Mora coming scary sharp out of the box. This was was too...in places, some were not very sharp at all and created a very un-even cutting experience. Is it something I could fix? Yep, easily, just kind of let down. Might send it back to swap it out, or I might just suck it up and make it the way I wanted.

Comments about Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife:
This is the knife to have at REI. No better knife for outdor use can be found at REI
This knife will out perform any knife in the store hands down. Its inexpensive and performs like crazy. It is a little weaker in thehandle from having cut outs in it to accomidate the fire steel but i would still rather take this outside than the other fixed blade knives at rei especially the bear grils wonder bar.
The grind on this knife makes it fantastic at splitting and fine cutting wood wich is really what you need. These knives are well made too, and while they arent by any means the toughest knives out there Mora knives will last allot longer than other cosmetic only rambo knives.
If your faboulosly insecure about your manhood i suppose youll have to go with a less plain looking knife but if you want a knife that does what it is supposed to this is the one.
Oh yea and the fire steel is good and doesent fall out of the handle.
And a side note about the sheath. A good sheath is worth about as much as a good knife and this one is pritty awesome for what it is. The knife is held suprisingly well not coming out when held upside down and shook. It also has a drain hole in it to let out excess moisture or oil. The clip on the sheath is wide enough to fit on any size belt and it clips tight. So tight that it is practical to clip the knife on a pocket, a shirt neck, any kind of pants without a blet like yoga or sweat pants or what ever else.
Some people might see this as only a back up knife, but one of my favorite survivalists carries a mora like this as his main blade only backing it up with another knife just like it. So do t over look this kinife as a super valuble and usefull tool.
PS comes in different colors so you can have covert dark colors or easy to find bright colors.

Comments about Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife:
Gimmicky? A little. Combination of two quality products? Absolutely! Would I use this as my primary knife in the woods? No, more of a secondary knife. Great for bushcraft and survival. One of the sharpest knives out of the box you'll come across. Keeps its edge very well. I'm gonna make my own leather sheath, with sharpening stone, as Mora puts their money into the knife, not the sheath. It's just fun to have!!
