Comments about Lezyne HP Road Drive Mini Pump:

I love this pump. It comes with a great mounting solution: a bracket that attaches under a water bottle holder.

The flex hose is how ALL pumps should be built. It screws on the valve stem so you get a leak free perfect connection every time. And you can pump with whatever angle you want without stressing the valve stem.

I find the max pressure ratings on all pumps a bit optimistic... but this pump is quite capable of topping off a 120 PSI road tire. Yeah you have to be patient and work at it, but a faster fill would make it much more difficult to achieve the pressure.

The only downside is the single ended flex pipe that only works on presta valve stems. Same basic hardware on lower pressure version has a shrader end on it but not the Road version.

Comments about Lezyne HP Road Drive Mini Pump:

This is a small pump that works.
It takes me about 3 minutes to get a 700x25 road tire from completely deflated to 90PSI.
Yes it actually gets to 90PSI!
It takes me about 230 pumps and 3 minutes to get to 90PSI.
          100 pumps = 40PSI
          150 pumps = 60PSI
          200 pumps = 80PSI

It starts to get tough around 150 pumps and more so at 200. It might take you longer depending on your personal strength/fitness levels, but I think most people should be able to get 80PSI in less than five minutes, which is incredible for a small pump and plenty to get you home. Most older full size frame pumps could never do that.

The only con is that the aluminum housing gets quite warm. BUT it doesn't get hot enough to cause any discomfort.

The included hose is awesome. It makes it very easy to attach the pump to the stem and allows you to hold the pump in many different positions.

Comments about Lezyne HP Road Drive Mini Pump:

Used this pump for the first time yesterday. I hadn't read the instructions carefully, so I basically worked out how to use it by trial and error. Wasn't hard to figure out and the pump works well. I experienced some minor leakage around the attachment point, remedied by steadying my hand against a spoke while pumping. I was able to bring the tire up to almost normal pressure. I don't think the time required to pressurize the tire was significanly more than with my (very old) Zefal HP.

Comments about Lezyne HP Road Drive Mini Pump:

The first reviewer's problems are inexplicable. This pump is kinder to tubes than anything else out there. More to the point, it will actually fully inflate road tires, which is what protects tubes better than anything.
Herewith a couple of bald statements:
            - mini pumps are inadequate for skinny tires
            - full-size frame pumps inflate well but have to fit the frame, usually obscuring water bottle bosses and occasionally getting knocked off or stolen.
Lezyne has created a slim half-size frame pump that mounts securely to one side of bottle bosses, detaches easily, is small enough to take with you, and makes skinny tires hard through a flexible tube and screw-on head. It's slim enough to fit inside seat tubes (even inside some seat posts!) so you *may* be able to slip it into a length of inner tube and conceal it completely. Don't count on that, but it works on some frames (mostly dependent on if, where and how seat tube bottle bosses are soldered).
REI at the moment offers only the short version of this pump, which is a shame because shaft length & diameter is what determines effort in/pressure out. You won't actually break the short version getting your tires up to pressure, but it takes less time and effort with the long version. (It's only ~5.5 cm longer but that last 5cm is where the pressure you need is created.)
REI does offer the Lezyne Micro Floor Drive, which is an elf-sized version of a floor pump that can go on the road. It's slightly larger than the long Road Drive but does about the same job.
The Road Drive comes with a mounting bracket for bottle bosses. It goes under your bottle cage. Lezyne also offers a typically elegant bottle cage with Road Drive bracket built in, something else REI doesn't carry. That's what I use.

Comments about Lezyne HP Road Drive Mini Pump:

I liked the compactness of the pump and the fact that it has a hose, so you don't have to risk wriggling the stem so much that it breaks off, but sadly it doesn't work very well in practice.
It's very sensitive to how far out you screw the valve nut, too far and you risk bending the pin. It also doesn't seem to fit all brands of tube equally well.
I've ruined 2, possibly 3, tubes with this pump. The first one the valve stem itself broke near the tread. Tonight I broke the second one: The rubber broke where the valve stem enters the tube. When I put on my spare tube, I could only pump it up to maybe 60psi then the hose got stuck on the valve, so I had to ride it back from the train station with the hose still attached as I couldn't risk using too much forcing getting it off.

I find it impossible to trust this pump enough to use for daily transport or longer rides into the wild as I don't have the option to call anyone to come pick me up if things go wrong.

Tomorrow I'll see if I can get it off the valve without breaking the stem off the tube, then it goes back to REI to see if they'll honor the '100% Satisfaction Guarantee'.

Comments about Lezyne HP Road Drive Mini Pump:

I have this and the Lesyne floor pump. Both are silky smooth in operation. This has a flexible hose stored in the barrel that attaches to your presta valve stem with a threaded connection. The combination eliminates virtually all of the stress normally inflicted on stems and tubes by mini pumps. This is the only mini pump that I have ever used that can actually pump a road tire to 100 psi in a reasonable amount of time (maybe a few minutes - never timed it). I've had a few flats where I've used this instead of CO2, just to see how well it works. Clearly CO2 is easier, but as a backup this pump works very well.

Finally, it looks great on the bike. Like their floor pump, this thing is a work of art.
