      I purchased these to replace what I thought was a similar pair of Marmot gloves, which I loved and had used for several seasons in varying conditions, but that I had lost. The day after I bought them I wore them snowshoeing on a rather cold day, and found them to be so ineffective, I had to be bailed out by a (fortunately) much more prepared fellow hiker, who provided me with a decent pair of mittens and handwarmers, after I literally lost all sensation in my hands. Since then I have found these gloves to even be inadequate for scraping frost off of the car and driving too work. At least I bought them on clearance, and I can see why they were on sale.
