Comments about Eureka Copper Canyon 12 Tent:
We've owned many REI tents in the past, and were a little leery about taking a bit of a step down to try the Eureka but were really wanting something large that would allow our family of 4 to camp comfortably with all our gear organized inside. Also we wanted room in case we were ever trapped inside during periods of rain. This tent has been a dream. I looked at reviews ahead of time as I was concerned about leaking and all I could find were complaints about the floor. As one other reviewer mentioned, simply buying a nice heavy duty tarp to place on the floor inside and also using one underneath on the outside ensures that we would never have to worry about water coming inside. Most of our REI tents had water come up inside the floor so having a tarp inside was going to be a must anyway.
I was concerned that the rainfly didn't cover the entire tent. I always thought we needed a rainfly that went to the ground to prevent leaking, but we've had the tent through many storms now with no leaking. Having the choice to be able to keep the windows open and feel the breeze and only shut the windows from inside if it starts raining at night is great on hot nights. Can do that with a full rainfly!
It's very easy for my husband and to set up and take down. Because of the completely open mesh top, it's not very warm on colder nights, but it's great for summer nights.

Comments about Eureka Copper Canyon 12 Tent:
We initially bought this model from another retailer. They had this model set up in the store and I was blown away by the size! This thing is huge! The one thing I noticed that was a concern was the floor material. The floors in most tents are made of a thicker, tougher material to prevent against rips and tears. This one is not! It appeared to be the same material as the rest of the tent. Against my better judgement, we bought this model. I took it home and set it up in the yard to get a feel for how easy it was to put up. I also planned on sealing the seams as well. I placed a tart down to protect the bottom of the tent beforehand as well. Set up wasn't bad. Easier with two people, but could be done by yourself if needed. After setting up, I went inside the tent and marveled at it's size.....until I looked down. There must have been a stick under the tarp and when I was walking around, it tore through the bottom of the tent. Needless to say, my concerns were valid. I packed it up, took it back to the store and bought a somewhat smaller model with a more solid floor and have had no problems since! If you are looking for a huge tent for your family, this one is big, but buyer beware!! You may be taking this model back too!!

Comments about Eureka Copper Canyon 12 Tent:
We are a family of 5 and spent a lot of time researching the best large tent to accomodate us and our K-9 friends. This tent is very well made, super easy to set up (best if done by 2 people) and can fit 1 queen size blow up mattress, 2 twin size blow up mattresses, a pack n' play and still leave plenty of room for duffle bags and dog beds. I love how tall the tent is....we are tall and can easily stand completely upright anywhere in the tent. The tent floor is the same material as the walls, so you might want to buy a tarp to put on the inside to prevent snags or rips, but we just put a tarp under the tent on the outside and then put a blanket on the floor inside right by the door and have a no shoe inside the tent policy. This is a great family tent and I absolutely would recomend it to anyone without hesitation! Happy camping!
