Comments about Edelrid Jay Climbing Harness:
I've used this harness several times on indoor climbs and I must say it is the most comfortable entry-level harness I've ever worn. The padding on both the waist and legs is positioned great, and the waist padding "floats" on the straps so you can get your belay loops dead center every time, it really is wonderful. On the con-side. The proportions of this harness are a little odd, I have a 30 inch waist, but I'm a relatively stocky build so my legs are pretty thick. The leg straps are almost a little too small for me, I have the straps pulled almost all the way out, with just about 3/4 inch of spare for leg growth, and the waist is pulled almost all the way in, but on hanging belays it starts to feel a little loose. Now, does it ever feel like it is not secure, or uncomfortable? No. Overall, this is an extremely comfortable harness, versatile, and for the price in my experience you can't beat it.

Great harness! I am a new climber and this is my first harness. It is extremely comfortable! Fits perfect. I love this. If you were to get a harness, I would recommend this. Awesome awesome awesome

The buckle open up a little too easily. I throw a knot in the tail which should prevent it from coming through the buckle. It doesn't bother me much though.

Comments about Edelrid Jay Climbing Harness:
Have had trouble finding a harness with range to fit my slender upper thighs. Waist is 30". Previous harness was a "small" and was just OK with everything cinched to max. The "small" Jay harness fit great at mid range of leg/waist adjustments. Have yet to use outside but plastic sleeve to prevent rope wear at lower tie in point should help harness last longer and 4 gear loops, adequate comfort, low weight make for good all around use.

Its great for indoor climbing, but can understand long climbs being a little bit more uncomfortable but not to the point of cutting circulation or horrible chaffing. I would still recommend this to any beginner.

Comments about Edelrid Jay Climbing Harness:
I absolutely love this harness. After flopping around in an uncomfortable Black Diamond harness for ages, I finally gave up and took a chance on this Edelrid harness. Even though it is very light in comparison to the workhorse harness that I had before, the padding is situated so that it actually ends up being super comfortable -- almost plush. Hanging belays are no longer unpleasant for me!
MAJOR plus for all of us slightly neurotic people out there, the belay loop is permanently attached to webbing that slides all the way around the harness, so that I can adjust it to dead center EVERY TIME. It's glorious.
My only concern about this harness is that, as a previous reviewer mentioned, it does run a wee bit slender in the leg loops. I have the waist cinched almost as tight as it will go on my Small harness, but the leg loops do appear to be meant for slimmer thighs, and I have mine adjusted to the biggest that it will go. Curvy ladies and anyone with small waists and bulkier legs should be aware of this and try on the harness before purchasing.
But overall, great product. Very impressed.

A Fantastic beginner harness or just a nice spare to have around. You truly can't find a better purchase for the price. I have had this harness now going on for about little more than a month and haven't had any problems with it. Granted, the sizing in the harness does go alittle larger than it's intended size, but that doesnt bother me since i like my harnesses a little looser than they should be.

Comments about Edelrid Jay Climbing Harness:
Great harness for size differences. This is the third harness I've owned because I haven't found one that fits well yet. I've got a normal waist but smaller legs which is hard to find a harness for, but this one fits great. Getting rid of the old harness!
Also I love the waist belt padding that slides around, so that even my smaller friends can use it. All around flexible sizing with out compromising performance at all. Great job Edelrid!

Comments about Edelrid Jay Climbing Harness:
This is my first as I'm just starting, but after climbing 3 times in this harness it seems to preform well. No chafing after 2-3 hours in it. Also, you can't beat the price for what it offers. Auto-buckle, leg padding, etc.
