Comments about Alite Cloverware Lite Utensils:

I've tried a variety of utensils and have found these to be the best of the lot for hiking and camping. The knife has a wide blade that cuts and spreads well. The spork has a deep bowl for easier liquid handling than other utensils I've tried. Connecting the two to make a cooking implement is a great design element. I'm very, very happy with these tools and pack them with my daily lunch when I'm not on the trail.

Comments about Alite Cloverware Lite Utensils:

I was looking for some new compact dinnerware for my toddler's on-the-go bag - specifically something with a knife for cutting things down.

I have an older Boker SnacPac with a smallish metal fork, teensy spoon/stirrer, and a fairly big, sharp knife. I opt not to bring it because of safety concerns.

While picking up some other gear at REI, this set caught my eye. The spork combo is super practical, and it had a descent enough knife. It should be perfect for road and air travel (I doubt TSA would find issue with it).

My todder enjoys using it, but has some trouble poking with the fork tines. The spork is about the size of regular table spoons, so that hasn't been too much of a change as we've been switching from toddler-sized to regular silverware.

I made some PB&J sandwiches and found the knife super handy for spreading and cutting. It has both a smooth and serrated side, which made spreading, dividing, and decrusting pretty easy. It is a plastic blade, so the edge isn't too sharp. While safe to leave with my toddler, it wouldn't be very good for cutting certain fruits or veggies.

Overall, I am very happy with this item. For actual camping, I'll have a few metal knives for easier food prep. But for road trips and dining out, this is absolutely perfect.
