I love these shoes! Ive ran, walked, worked and worn them lots of places! They make me feel stable and very fast.They are very thin, but isnt that what minimalist is about? Maybe if you dont cut your toenails enough, or wear socks a hole could eventually show up.
A warning though, dont expect these to be waterproof at all, I learned that the difficult way, walking through grass :)

I have been using these shoes for indoor crossfit workouts for about 4 months. I agree with other reviewers, they aren't really durable enough for trail running, at least not in the PNW. Maybe on nice, flat compact dirt trails. However, as a workout shoe these are great, particularly for lifting, running, and dynamic movement! They have excellent "feel" through the sole, just like fivefingers. The upper is extremely light, which keep my feet nice and cool. They do absorb water through the bottom (say, running on a wet surface) due to the waffled pattern of the vibram, which has small gaps of fabric. So be warned about that- these are definitely for dry conditions only. Overall I like em, I'm glad they've lasted daily use all winter, but I will probably pick up something a little more substantial next time, so that I can wear them outside.

The soles are worn after 2 months and a hole just developed on the top during an 18 mile run. Love running in them, but they are NOT sturdy. They won't last long enough to get your money's worth of fun! Very disappointing. Skip these shoes and buy something sturdier.
