Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
I use this thing for everyday use, hunting, backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, working on my jeep, and much more. It has been 100% reliable. The different brightness settings are great and easy to change. On the brightest setting you don't just get a pencil beam but it also floods so you get a great peripheral of the surroundings. I am going to buy about 3 of these so that I have one to keep with my different gear. and of course now that my girlfriend went backpacking with me and was jealous of it I will get her one as well. I wish I had one of these in Iraq.

Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
I needed an extra headlamp that was not for work. This is solidly built and I was delighted to find it was not made in China. As an employee of a non-profit organization that works to keep crafts, skills and trades alive at home, it's always great to find those innovators out there prepared to take the risk to bring great products like this to market.

Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
I was impressed by the trio of great lighting options from this unit, and that you didn't have to cycle through them all to get to one desirable setting.
The high-beam option creates a prolific column of light, the low-bean setting is great in camp, and the mid-beam setting is good for backpacking in groups and not wanting to blind your comrades.
Otherwise, it' lightweight, the batteries are easily changed, and the ratcheting pivot is the best designed pivot I've seen on any headlamp.

Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
I bought this light almost a year ago when I went to work doing structural repairs under houses. After more than 10 months of nearly daily use the light has remained bright and still has low power consumption. I store the light with other personal equipment in my backpack and have had very few problems with the light accidently being turned on. It has only happened twice to the best of my recollection.
The only problem I've had with the light is when one of my colleagues dropped a jack weighing about 35 on it and broke the bottom half of one of the retainers, which, obviously, is beyond the normal scope of wear and tear.

Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
I took this headlight on a 10 day float trip down the Green River. The stars in Canyonlands NP were magnificent. I was able to use the red light setting and keep my headlamp on while walking from my tent to our stargazing tarp without disturbing others' enjoyment of the stars. During a recent backpacking trip, I can't tell you how many people were blinded by bright white headlamps but no one ever complained about my red light. This was packed in my Otter Box during the float trip and in my hip belt pocket of my backpack and I had a problem with the power switch being pressed into the "on" position. Battery life is long due to the LED option. Very useful for float, backpacking and biking trips.

Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
I bought the remix to replace an older backpacking headlamp with fewer features. I'm a big fan of the variable brightness settings and single bright bulb versus smaller bulbs to save battery life. I can always find a setting that is right for the situation, and the lowest brightness setting is often all I need.
I have two small complaints: The clip to release the battery cover is very hard to get open, and seems like it could snap off with too much force, and render the headlamp unusable. Also, the headlamp can rotate, but the beam does not point down far enough. This means that even at the lowest angle, the bean can easily shine into other people's eyes and does not light the ground directly in front of me.

Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
I bought this because I was heading up on Mt. Mitchell in Asheville, NC before the sun risen. I cannot really complain as this was my first headlamp. It was very bright at 100 lumens. It held up and did what I needed for it to do. I would get this again if I needed too.

Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
Use it to work on my car where the sun don't shine. It shines where you look, as opposed to other auto drop lights. Can't wait to plumb with it.
Wife saw it, and now uses it for knitting and sewing.
Really focuses a nice beam on work surface, especially if you have reached the age of challenged eye sight.
Runs on 3 AAA Bats-no expensive power source.

Comments about Princeton Tec Remix Headlamp:
Cross country trip a few years ago we had rechargable lanterns but had difficulty with them. Gave up the lanterns and bought headlamps when we ran across the next camping gear store which happened to be an REI. Now anytime we need light, camping, going to the Drive-in, or power outage we have light thanks to the headlamps and can read without having to share an ineffectual lantern. We are on our second pair of headlamps and worth every penny. (The first pair got lost in a move of house.)
