Comments about Saris Bike Porter 3-Bike Trunk Rack:
I bought this rack to use with my VW Jetta. It fit well and the materials seemed like they would not damage/scratch car. The bike seemed secure. So, anyway, there's a yellow release knob that allows you to unlock the arms of the rack to position it on your car. I used the rack once to transport my bike to a couple of miles away, drove home, and took it off of my car. The next day (take note: at this point I have owned this rack for less than a week and used it ONCE) I went to put it back on my car, and at first the arms of the rack wouldn't move. It was fully released/unlocked, but they were having issues. Once I got them into position, it wouldn't lock! At first the release knob turned freely, obviously not having any effect, then it later jammed up completely and wouldn't move. The people at the bike shop I was visiting couldn't even get it figured out. Anyway, I returned it...I wish I hadn't used my 20% coup on this sad piece of craftsmanship. Maybe the Bones rack will be better? I'm hesitant to trust the brand at all now, but maybe I just got a lemon.
