    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Hiking shoes, Vibram sole is poor Vibram sole wears out very fast and peels away from leather. Overall great shoe but the sole is not good quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfy! I got these for every-day wear. I wear them at work, walking around the city, and on hikes. They've been good for everything and are very comfortable with no rub spots or anything. They're not great for running but also not bad. I tried on a lot of different shoes at REI and kept coming back to these. They have very good traction (in all conditions I've encountered so far) and a little mesh so they don't get too hot, but the rain doesn't easily get in. I'm very happy with them! PS oh yes, the tongue is not attached on the sides so it was slipping sideways the first week. But it was easy to fix by lacing it differently, so it's not a problem anymore and nothing gets in. I had completely forgotten about that until I read another review mentioning it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look & Feel Great This pair of shoes has a great-looking style and it feels great. I wear them to the office everyday, and also when I am walking or hiking outdoors. Yes, the mesh top can let water in, but it also allows my feet to breath. The only CONs I have are that: - They can sometimes feel too tight when the laces are tied - The tongue moves toward the side of the shoe when I wear them for several hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seemingly no break in period Purchased for finicky son for camping and hiking during Scouting events. Finally a shoe he loves from the get go! I'm hoping his feet will grow again, as these are now my size too and I would love them for myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great comfortable supportive Great for everyday use. I wear them to work on my feet for 10-12 hours per workday and they have provided comfortable support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Summer field work These are very good shoes for the 10-12 hours I spend each week birding and doing census work on rare and endangered invertebrates. I can do most anything but actually wade in water with them or scramble heavy rock faces. Light weight was critical to me, and I sacrificed better ankle support for that. I also switched out the sole for a Superfeet footbed, and that has made the shoe more stable but still a little prone to pronation because the ankle fit is very wide. But I am very had to fit, and these do yeoman's work for me in the field.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good Mantra does well as an all-around walker. First shoe/boot I've bought in 10 years that is not a Keen, so I wasn't sure. The Mantra is light, comfortable, good traction. Could work as a trail runner, as well as light hiking. Only thing I have not liked is that the tongue is a tiny bit short, so you have to pay attention to last row of laces.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Impression Good I have been looking all over for these shoes. I have the 1.0 and love them. I actually wear them for my work shoe so when I saw there was an updated one with a better color I knew I had to get them. REI near me only has them in Women's and the other stores didn't have my size. SO I ordered online without trying them on first...yeah...I was worried. First impressions were, it is a nice looking shoe and laced up easily. I could get used to them pretty quickly. First con I noticed was the tongue seems too short and depending on how you lace them you might miss and lace your foot at the top. It isn't that bad but not like my others, there is only maybe 1/4" min to 1/2" max extra tongue. Next, while wearing in the house to make sure I like them I noticed they do get a tad warm...this I am worried about as I am in Las Vegas and one thing we are not short on is heat. :) Hopefully they will be ok, I have/had many a pair that ended up getting donated because they just hold in heat and that won't work for me. Lastly, these have nearly the same pattern soles as my 1.0 which honestly doesn't matter much but I do know that those held up amazingly well. Overall I am happy but a bit cautious too. This is my first review and I hope I can update in a week or so. Hopefully I will enjoy them. If not I might have to email the fellow further up and offer another pair of these up used. LOL.
