Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I bought these pants in the store in the dark gray for a trip to Peru and I could've worn them every day! The stretch in the fabric made them very comfortable and the pockets were perfect for carrying my passport and a small, flat, wallet. I was able to fit into one size smaller than my standard size.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
Snap button hard to unsnap and tore fabric from other side of pants when trying to unsnap. Now need to rely on the tie to secure the pants. Bigger disappointment are the shallow side pockets, easy for things to fall out. Last pair of REI pants, all the pockets zipped securely and I appreciated that feature for when out hiking.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I'll start with my "con." The top stitching on the rear-end seam is starting to unravel after only a couple of wears and washes. I'll be exchanging for that reason, and am assuming it's just a small defect in this one pair of pants.
That said - I've been looking for a truly comfortable and well-fitting pair of hiking/walking, nylon convertible pants for a while. Most of them didn't move enough because of the fabric and the waists gaped in the back. These actually have very little gaping in the back and the drawstring pulls in the rest. The added stretch in the fabric makes them super comfortable and gives them a ton of move-ability for a nylon pant.
Other than the pulled stitching, I'm really happy with these pants!

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Yuma Convertible Pants - Women's:
I am a very pale person so being in the sun can be quite dangerous for me. I was going to the drag races and needed leg protection from the sun. I read on the tag these pants had sun protection. So I gave them a try.
I have to say although I stood out in a crowd of short-goers, I was quite content coming home without sunburned legs. Duing the race I had no problem with sweat and they look great too.
Highly recommend.

I was so excited to see these on sale as they are my all time favourite pants. I bought a pair to take to Africa in 2010 - the lined waistband kept my pack from chafing. The SPF 50 came in handy with my fair skin and the convertible feature meant I practically lived in them.
They've come on every camping trip and most hikes since then. They move easily with you without binding or restricting.
They are the most flattering hiking pants I've seen so far and the darker colours look nice enough to wear out for an evening on the town while travelling.

I love these pants! I purchase last years version and wore them 8 days on the wonderland trail and was very happy with how they held up. I live in the northwest and hike almost every weekend. The one pair is still holding up well. I decided to pickup a new pair for this session and love the fit of the this years better. I like having the front pockets and I do like the placements of the side pockets on this years. I used them for just an overnight trip it was raining off and one and the pants dried out very quickly. Over all these are by far the best hiking pants that I own.

I'm a field biologist and I wore these almost every day for a 3 month field season in the Yosemite back country. I thought I'd definitely wear the fabric out or tear it from the excessive use (often sliding on slabs of rock or logs), but these pants are built to last. Got them on sale and wish they were still on sale! More pockets is always nice, but the material and fit is really excellent. Dries super quick.

I spent a weekend in Joshua Tree with these pants and they're awesome! They completely withstood a lot of abuse from that sharp J Tree rock.
I highly recommend them.

Props to Mountain Hardware on a solid pant. I wore these on a 5 day hike through the Grand Canyon as my only pants and they were amazing. They can be tightened or loosened with a drawstring for security vs. comfort. They have a great double snap closure that doesn't chafe. The waist has a soft sewn in lining that kept my skin completely comfortable after 13 miles with a pack on. Pocket size and placement are dead-on. I also love that the leg opening is big enough to slip a boot through but not so large as to hook on your boots while hiking like some others. All in all a great pant that I will be wearing for hikes from casual to serious and probably around the house as well.

Have worn these pants on two trips to Costa Rica. Excellent for the plane trip -- very comfortable and look nice. I've worn them for ziplining, damp hikes, and horseback riding and they stretch as I move and still feel comfortable. Love the elastic cords at the ankles to keep things out. Like being able to zip off the lower leg as needed. Very nice pants, very well made.
