  • Nylon mesh uppers reduce weight, enhance breathability; built-in 4-way stretch nylon gaiters keep trail debris out, minimize seams and offer a great fit
  • Polyurethane toe caps protect feet and uppers; sturdy, reinforced heel loops double as a clip-in point for easy transport
  • Mesh nylon linings wick moisture to help keep feet comfortable
  • Dynamic midsoles are made of 2 layers of different materials—just under the foot, an ergnomically shaped, firm EVA layer offers light stability and extra cushioning
  • Below the EVA layer is a soft, lightweight layer of foam that delivers excellent cushioning, helps dissipate impact shocks and conforms to uneven terrain
  • Wrapping the layer, the shaped FriXion® XF rubber outsoles of the La Sportiva Vertical K shoes offer increased surface area contact for great feel and responsiveness

          So far I really like these shoes. At first I was a little worried since they are so thin and light weight that rocks would make my feet sore but Ive done a few 6-8 miles hikes/runs and they seem to work very good. I can feel rocks when I step on them and the shoe will mod around rock but over all it hasn't been a problem. at retail price they seem a little expensive but I got them on a good deal and Im very satisfied.

              This is a followup to my first review - I had to return the shoes because the very thin cloth over the top of my foot on both shoes would not lay flat after longer runs and it caused a ridge that put pressure on the nerves over the top of the foot.

              I think it you are very careful putting them on and leave them setup when not in use this might never happen - But my equipment is used and abused on a daily basis and this problem was a deal breaker - Still love my La Sportiva Electrons - but the Ks had to go back.

                Fantastic Shoe - I was talked into these by an REI sales guy when he saw that I had purchased the La Sportiva Electrons for hiking - I am so glad he did - the Ks weigh nothing, give great cushion and traction. Best of all these shoes do everything well, from running to mall walking to camp shoes at night.

                I had been running on another shoe for about ten years - but these weigh half and offer a more comfortable base. Best of all the traction is great and gives a very confident feel. I was just starting to run in my five fingers, but these are much more comfortable.

                I hiked a few days in Joshua Tree with these and while not hardcore, they did a fantastic job of feeling comfortable while keeping rock impacts under control. I highly recommend these shoes.
