The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Kelty Acadia 6 Tent:
We have only used it once and the setup even in the dark was amazingly easy. The rain fly was a little difficult to get on but the only real problem were the flimsy zippers. They weren't broken or penetrated by the wind but just seemed weaker than most tents I've used. No telling yet whether or not it will be a problem in the future.

Comments about Kelty Acadia 6 Tent:
wife put her foot down. she wants to go camping! tent! we need a tent. this one was priced right and big and roomy..for two of us. 6 man tent? you better like each other. as a two person shelter (+dog) this thing is a palace. you can pretty much stand up in it. i like it. perfect car camping tent. like all tents, there is some grumbling when it comes time to stuff everything back into the sack. it wasnt easy. and the tent stakes..haha funny. i will buy better ones for next time.

Comments about Kelty Acadia 6 Tent:
It is a roomy tent for couple with gear and kid, no kids. The rainfly covers the tent well a protect from rain but most of the tent walls are transparent mesh, so getting some privacy on a hot day can be a sweaty experience. The rainfly reaches almost to the ground which is really good and leaves the tent ventilated, but again having the mesh walls makes the tent a bit too cold. So when it is hot, it is too hot and when it is cold, there is no way to warm it. Last thing, the floor is made of really thin nylon that will not hold any rough shoes, gear, dog in the tent. Other than that, easy to set up and fold by one person.
Nice, but not perfect.

Comments about Kelty Acadia 6 Tent:
I bought this tent for the after school program that I work with and after one night at the Indian Dunes a main pole had split in the middle of it. Thanks to REI they will replace it but I have a few questions after it getting broken after one night of use.

Comments about Kelty Acadia 6 Tent:
We have never gone camping before as a family. I have two young boys and wanted to make sure we had a great first experience. We bought this tent and love it! It is easy to set up and plenty of room for our family of four. We have 4 sleeping mats that we put across the tent and then we still have room for our bags and clothes. On our second night of camping it rained, and we were completely dry in the morning. Great value for a great tent. Perfect for a family of 4.

Comments about Kelty Acadia 6 Tent:
We live in the Pacific NW so staying dry is a major priority. Sure enough, during our first time using the Kelty Acadia it rained through the night. We stayed completely dry. Not a single drop made it through the fly (unlike other tents I have used, where a few drips get through the fly but the tent itself catches those). There are only 3 poles with this tent (2 for the tent and 1 for the fly) so set-up takes less than 10 minutes for two adults. This was important, as it was pouring rain when we took down our tent. We stayed quite dry while the other campers in our party got soaked taking theirs down, because it had 5 or 6 poles and an asymetrical design. I'm sure we'll get lots of use out of our Kelty Acadia.

Comments about Kelty Acadia 6 Tent:
After MUCH research we finally decided to purchase the Acadia 6 man tent. With two boy scouts we camp nearly once a month and it's perfect for multiple boys and their gear. It's most comfortable with 3-4 w/packs. They recently camped in the pouring rain and were nice and dry in the morning! The fly is like an extra cacoon. Perfect! Too heavy for backpacking but great for car camping.

This and the Acadia 4 are the first nylon tents I've owned that have not leaked. First weekend out and they stood up to 3.5 inches of steady rain.

Comments about Kelty Acadia 6 Tent:
Since there were no reviews of this tent, I thought I would share some first impressions of the Acadia 6 after receiving mine last week. Hopefully this will help others in the search for your next tent. I have set the tent up, but have not used it extensively yet. Once I have a chance to use it in the field, I will share more thoughts.
Perfect size: Bought this for use while camping with my two young sons, and the size is perfect. I am 6'1" and can stand up in the tent without any issue. The vestibules that are created by the fly are also very nice and will provide a ton of dry storage for shoes and other stuff you don't want in your tent.
Super easy to set-up: The tent sets up with two poles that slide easily through the pole sleeves. The poles are heavy duty. The sleeves cover 70% of the pole, so you only have two clips on each corner to snap on, which is nice. The fly has its own pole which fits very tightly into the fly. The only time I wish I had a 2nd person helping me set-up the tent was when I was trying to get the fly onto the tent. Once I figured out a way to balance the fly support pole on top of the tent, it was fine. I am sure next time will be easier, but a 2nd person will definitely make it easier.
Mesh: 3/4 of the tent is mesh, which will be really nice on hot, summer nights. I hate being hot so this was one of my top reasons for buying the tent. Since the top of the tent is mesh, there is no way to attach a "gear attic". There is a loop at the top of the tent to hang a light or small bag, There are two large (approx. 15" wide x 8") pockets at the base of the tent. If you have items you want to keep up and away from the floor of the tent, I would recommend hanging a small stuff sack from the small loop at the top of the dome.
Doors: the doors are very large and easy to unzip. classic Kelty design here. There are also little fabric straps to hold the doors open if you roll them up.
Stakes: Usually the stakes that come with tents are pretty weak, but the stakes with the Acadia 6 are pretty nice. They are lightweight aluminum and don't appear to be prone to bending.
Storage bag: The tent and fly come in what amounts to a medium size duffel bag. The best part is that the bag is large enough that you don't have to fold the tent up exactly the way it came from the factory to get it back in the bag.
Overall, I am pleased with the purchase. For the price, I think it is hard to beat.
