I always pack this jacket in my bag when the weather is iffy. It packs super light. I've used this when climbing with a helmet and I've had no problems. It's great when the weather turns for the worst and you need to keep dry.

Just about perfect windbreaker/rain jacket in every way. Takes up very little space, functions as designed. Use it on rainy days in San Fran, light hikes in Tahoe, and it even came in super handy on a hike in HI where it it was very windy at 10,000 feet at the Haleakala crater summit. Very comfortable when wearing backpacks and other gear. Provided flawless rain protection on the hills of Kapalua in HI...

I am re-writing this review as seen above. I have owned and used the jacket for a while now, having used it both for casual wet weather wear, and some light backpacking. The stains were probably from me eating food too fast. It actually cleans up nice with just a little water and some rubs. The instructions were not included for washing like I said, but were easily found on Arc'teryx's website. It doesn't breath amazingly well, but that is just Goretex I guess. It's light, and crams in my pack with ease; it takes an hour or so and it is unwrinkled once out. Certainly a large price drop on the item, don't know what that says about it, but I have had no remorse. So there.

For what it is, highly satisfied. Simple water/wind protection. Hood adjusts nicely. Very light. However, it does attract little stains of who knows what.. I don't know how to clean it either, no washing instructions on the shell. Seemed like a great way to buy into a great brand. Quality really shows through in the fit; looks snug, plenty of room for layers.
