Comments about REI Overnighter Pack:
I have actually used this pack. It was perfect for my purpose. I take a biannual trip where I fly to Kansas and drive back to my home in Tucson over three days. The combination of flying and auto travel for such a short time requires a small efficient luggage solution. A change of clothes, underwear and travel jacket are about all I take. This pack is the best I have used. It fits in any overhead and I love the ability to change from packs straps to shoulder straps.

Comments about REI Overnighter Pack:
I recently got this pack because of a review I read on the 1bag1world site. As of now have only tried two beta test packings --- real trip is a 16 day Europe cruise scheduled for late May.
So far, I am happy I got the pack. It is a budget choice bag that, while not necessarily stylish, is functional. For me, the plan is to travel via the ultralight philosophy of use. Goal of total bag weight with contents is 17.6 lb. or less.
In my two test packings, I have been able to achieve 15.8 lbs. Included in the weight, above and beyond the bag: 3 long sleeve no-iron, quick dry shirts, 2 short sleeve golf shirts, Eagle Creek 15" packing folder, 3 pairs of no iron pants, 5 pairs of underwear, 5 pairs of socks, handerkerchief, icebreaker 150 shirt, 2 t-shirts, rain parka, rain pants, swimsuit, 3 ziplocs with toiletries, meds, laundry kit, and a few other goodies.
FYI, I also have a Scottevest travel vest wherein I will carry some things like cell phone, tickets, extra batteries, cables, ear buds, etc.
As of now, I will give it 4 stars and re-rate it after I get some trips under my belt. The big question is how will it hold up on trips. Without the actual experience, only time will tell. If I had to hazard a guess, I think it will do ok, as I am the type of person who takes care of my things.

Comments about REI Overnighter Pack:
I have not used this yet but I like this bag. It's about one inch smaller all round compared to my Patagonia MLC. The price is pretty good, and I am looking forward to a 2-week trip next month with this as my only bag. I like that it's one compartment. Because it's a little smaller than the MLC, it seems more unobtrusive to me.
