        I cannot say enough about these pants. I purchased a pair in anticipation of a three-day backpacking trip in the White Mountains over Memorial Day. The weather turned sour, so we opted for a day hike up Mt Eisenhower on one of the clearer days of the weekends instead. These pants held up wonderfully. There had been fresh snow the night before, and for an hour uphill snow fell relentlessly; my softshell was nearly soaked by the time we got to the top, but these pants stayed incredibly dry. I was also surprised by how warm and windproof they were. I hadn't expected those features from the reviews, and was worried that I would actually be underprepared for the summit. I was pleased to discover that in the approximately 50 mph winds on the summit, my legs were the only warm part of me. Overall, these pants performed phenomenally, and I will definitely be holding onto them for a long time.

          I was just telling my husband that these are my favorite pants. I wash them more often than my other pants so I can wear them more. I bought them specifically to have a quick dry, comfortable pant to wear small boat sailing, kayaking and biking. I love the stretchy fabric that allows me to move around the boat quickly and comfortably and to spend long amounts of time on my bike. It has been very comfortable biking. I had bought another pair of pants from REI that was lightweight but not stretchy, and they are not as nearly as comfortable. I like the fact that I can roll the pant up and secure it when I get hot. I like that I can modify the waist a little with the stretch band. the other pants I had gapped in the back, but this pair doesn't gap because of the stretchy band and the stretchy fabric. I think they looks nice and I have worn it to work on days that I decide to bike home. I can dress it up with a nice top to make a nice casual outfit and then change into a more casual top for the ride home. Yes, I am justifying going more casual than usual to work.

              I'm 5'11" and have a hard time finding pants long enough for me. These fit great, plus they have the added feature of rolling up. Better than zip off pants since you can't lose the bottom half of the legs. Have a nice stretch to the material and seem durable so far.
