I bought this watch about a year ago and really dig the classic, clean look of it. The only reason I gave it less than 5 stars and a POSSIBLE "Inaccurate" review is because last month it began stopping randomly. After a few hours, it will start up again, so I know it's not a battery issue, and it's not like I'm free soloing in it so it's not from damage/use. Not sure if this is just a fluke or what, but I wanted to put it out there, just in case.

I normally leave my watch on my nightstand while I sleep. The first night after this one arrived, I put it on my nightstand at bedtime, as usual. The ticking was so loud that I reached over and placed it in the nightstand drawer instead, closing the drawer. I could still hear the thing. After several minutes, in frustration, I took it out of the drawer and lobbed it into the clothes hamper across the room. The next morning I took it out of the hamper and placed it in an antique cookie tin on my dresser, where I keep bracelets. The dresser happens to be on the side of the room nearest my husband's side of the bed. I spent the next night away from home on a trip, and upon my return, my husband said that while I was gone "some watch or something" had kept him up at night - he could hear it through the tin! He apologized but wanted to let me know that he'd gotten so frustrated that he'd gotten up, stalked the noise, found the tin, opened it, stuffed a sock in, and closed it up. "It was okay after that," he said.

I've given the watch away.

I have worn numerous types of watches. I have worn Rolex, Luminox, Orvis, and Citizens. This Timex is a great addition to the collection. The watch face is a good size and the light feature is good. The watch is very casual, but could be added to any outfit. I have worn it while at work so far and it has exceeded my expectations. It is very basic and lightweight.

I have dropped this watch several times on hard surfaces. No problems. I have slammed the watch into hard objects while working, walking around, etc. No problems. I have showered and swam with it on. No problems. The watch is accurate. If you are not good with military time, no worries. Back light works well. The watch band could be better (it has held up better than expected), but that is easily solved by purchasing a NATO watchband. The crystal has held up pretty well and does not scratch easily. Also, the watch case does not have a "brushed" finish, more like a high gloss (picture doesn't do it justice).

I have been wearing a Suunto Vector since my sophomore year in college. I run, ride, and climb as much as I can. The Suunto is lightweight and worked great for all of those uses, and when I was at my job or out in the city, it was always a fun conversation starter to talk about the outdoors. Now I'm in my 30's and want a watch that isn't a big digital wrist-top computer for when I'm going around town, but also don't want some trendy/gaudy/bling-y monstrosity. The Weekender (I have the black face with black band) is perfect - classic, understated, accurate, and very well designed. Classic lines, simple, easy to read face, and a band you can replace with different colors (search for a nato band on [@]) if you want to mix it up. I have only had this watch about a month. I bought it because of all the reasons above and it is a great price. It is holding up well (I have accidentally bumped it against walls and furniture by accident while wearing it and it hasn't scratched), and blends in to any outfit. It's very water resistant, easy to put on an off, and the indiglo works great. The only cons: -A bit of wear to the holes in the band- still functional, but does show fraying, and I've had the watch a month.- it doesn't show the date. I didn't realize it was a problem (for me) until I'd worn it a couple days. I'm just used to having the date on a watch. One other note- you can hear it tick. This is neither bad nor good, but I thought I'd mention it. It's not obtrusive or overly loud, it's just a truly analog watch and makes a noticeable sound when it gets quiet.So far, I am really happy with this watch.
