I finally found a soft shell that fits & actually blocks the wind. This is the best fitting jacket I have ever had. I am 5'8", 145-150 with an athletic build, broad shoulders, & long arms. I was able to buy the medium in this jacket,most others I have to get a large due to my shoulders & arms. This means it actually fits in the waist & hip area instead of being too big! Thank you Patagonia!

The chest pocket is nice to have for small things but for a women, putting certain objects, such as a phone, in the pocket make the jacket fit and look a little awkward. This jacket keeps me warm in most weather conditions and when it's chilly enough i pair it with a hoody underneath for extra warmth. Water drips right off the jacket, and the wind doesn't penetrate while allowing the jacket to still be very breathable and durable.

I am extremely happy with this jacket. Its great quality, fits well, and looks really good on.
I drive a scooter to and from work (by scooter, I mean like a less-powerful motorcycle, not the kids' toy!). It gets pretty cold in the wind and I need a jacket that does a super-awesome job of stopping the wind from getting through. This is definitely it! Another good thing about this jacket, especially for ride a bike/motorcycle, is that it is a bit longer than another windstopper I used to wear. Rather than being a typical waist-length-ish, its a couple inches longer, so leaning over with jeans is no longer worrisome. That makes me think it would also be a decent fit for a taller gal as well. The zipper is great too! It is the plastic, bigger kind of zipper, not the super tiny ones (when the teeth on those get old, they start getting jammed). I have not used it in the rain, so I cannot say how resistant it is to water. Wind though - totally cuts it out!
As for size, I would say it fits true to size for average women's wear. I could fit a small or x-small, in between mainly because I'm small-chested. I went with the small because I want the option of being able to wear it over a variety of clothes for work, sometimes those sweaters are thick. If based on the size chart, you think you are in between sizes, I would suggest: size down if this is for entirely technical wear so your layers will be thin tech shirts // size up if you want to make sure you can comfortably wear it over less practical thick winter sweaters.

I bought this jacket specifically for a long distance motorcycle trip across the Western states. Knowing it would be hot, windy and some rain, this jacket performed amazingly. I was looking for something lightweight enough to wear alone,or if need be,layer it up. Very comfortable and stylish. I purchased the mango color, which i Love. It was filthy after the trip, yet came clean with minimal care. The only improvement that could be made is the neck zipper, it could be a little tighter under the chin, otherwise, LOVE this jacket !

I use this jacket when I travel. It fits nicely in my carry-on and serves me well in chilly environments. It's stylish and can be worn with various outfits making it very versatile. I got LOTS of compliments on how flattering the cut is and that it appeared to be very high quality. A superb purchase!
