The mightily compact NiteRider MiNewt Pro 750 bike light offers a "just right" balance between light output, weight and space-saving size to ensure the path or road ahead of you is well lit.

Redesigned headlamp now includes a power switch at the top of the headlamp, letting you quickly and easily turn light on or switch through the light levels

I bought this light with high hopes for the 24 hours of Moab race. I took it out on 2 night rides before the race and I was excited because it seems to work really well. I fully charged the battery and was ready for my night lap at Moab. 40 minutes into my night lap at 24 hours of Moab, about the furthest place from camp at 1AM... the light just goes black. Oh NO! I forgot a back up light. Here I was stopped dead, nobody around and it is pitch black. Getting back to camp was very difficult and I am happy to be alive. I am very disappointed with the quality. This light will be returned tomorrow. (I heard from several other riders very similar stories.. all of them had Night Rider). Light & Motion will be where I go for my new setup.

As others have said, this light failed on the first and second rides. The first ride: It worked fine for about 30 minutes. Then I stopped, turned it off for a few minutes. When I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't fire up. Luckily I use a helmet light as well.

Thought it was a fluke so I decided to give it another shot, but it wasn't a fluke. On the second ride I started riding near dusk and as the sun went down, I went to turn on the light and got nothing. Helmet light saved the day again.

Both times, the light was fully charged as indicated by the charge time and the indicator light being green. I notced during trail troubleshooting that shaking the battery module caused the indicator light to blink red. So, clearly some quality issues with this product at this stage. Also, it is worth mentioning that the connector is overly engineered and is difficult to align correctly to the battery. I think this alignment issue makes it easy to damage the delicate pins and this may be what is wrong with the light, but I honestly can't tell what's wrong and don't care, I just want one that works in the operating environment it was intended for: mtb trail riding. I have no faith in this connector they've built. I'm going to consider geting a replacement 750 but not sure and might just switch up to a different brand. If I have other issues, I'm switching brands permanently.

I bought this light a few months ago... in March. First time battery charge was super quick; about 30 minutes... the first few times I used the light it was great although the high beam did not appear to last long at all and was used very sparingly. Then came my trouble... I plugged the battery into the charger after a ride and discovered the charging indicator lights were not illuminating at all. Another ride, and no problem ... but then the next ride I'm twenty minutes into it, on low beam (climbing), and the battery indicator goes red after a full night's charge. Ride had to be cut short. Test charging revealed that the battery was not holding a charge. This could be very dangerous where I live and ride (Bend OR, trail riding). I'd hate to have to walk 15 miles back to my car in a pitch black forest filled with bears, cougars, coyotes, monkeys and honey badgers! Okay, there are no wild monkeys or honey badgers in OR but I'd be scared SILLY! Exchanged the system and got the NR Pro 1500 LED Race light instead banking on the history I have with NR lights. I use their commuting light systems and have an old Classic Dual beam system from the late 90's that worked really well for about 5 years. Crossing my fingers on the purchase of the new system, which has yet to arrive...

Purchased 2 of these for me and a friend. These lights are perfect for our fast paced night rides. We put in on "walk mode" for climbing and medium or high for going down. Replaced a Minewt 350 and the difference in amazing. Have never had these lights die on the trail. Very weather proof. We ride in the Pacific Northwest, this winter we've had quite a few wet rides and the rain and mud havent been an issue.

Did have some issues with the O-rings snapping in cold weather but a quick call to NiteRider resolved the issue. They have fanatastic customer service.

The O-rings snapped when we were mounting the light to a small diameter hadnlebar, so if you keep it mounted you shouldnt have an issue.

I previously used the NiteRider Digital Evolution - a halogen light that's around 9 years old (and around 150 lumens).

I've only used this as a headlamp.

This light is quite bright. I can ride climbs and some flats with the low beam. The high beam provides an excellent and bright light with the only downside being the focus of the beam is tight, so you need to point the beam toward the direction you want to see rather than having some lower level light allowing you to look with your eyes only.

I've ridden on the road over 40 mph and don't outride it.

I read reviews that this light may fail on me in the first use, so I charged and discharged the battery twice before taking it on a night-time mountain bike ride. I was confident it would be bright and functional but when I got to the trail head and tested the light, I just got a flashing red and green indication and no light output at all. Luckily, I had a back-up light, the 110 lumen by NR, which was OK as it was a full moon too. I will be returning to REI to get this replaced because I was really impressed with the brightness of the light and will swap for a new one which I hope will work for me. My bottom line is to be prepared for failure. Luckily REI has superior customer service so I'm going to give this light another shot.

I use this light as my primary for riding in the dark hours where street lamps are rare. On the lowest setting, it allows me about 6 hours of light that is enough to make out pebbles and glass on the road at 25'. Larger objects are visible out a bit further, easily far enough to avoid them at my normal 17-18 mph pace.

On the highest setting, battery life drops off to about an hour and a half, but the road is lit up to 50 feet of usable illumination. This is great for bombing hills and even at 25-30 mph hill bombs, I am not out-riding it.

The whole package is fairly light weight. The lamp itself is smaller than my backup Cateye OptiCube. The battery is small and mounts easily on the frame, but the cord from the lamp is very short. I find that I have to use the supplied extension which then makes the whole thing way too long.

The lamp mounts to the bike with an o-ring. I was not too fond of this when I first started using the system, but now that I have a few miles on it with no problems...I do not see any reason not to trust it. The helmet mount is a different story. It is robust and locks positively. So far, my helmet has only been graced once by the lamp, though it worked perfectly. For trail riding, helmet mounting seems the way to go.

Great lamp, light battery with decent life. The only issue I have found is the short primary cord, but that is not a deal breaker by any means.
