Comments about Leatherman Sidekick Multitool:
This tool is pretty self explanitory, but if you are looking for a tool to keep on your belt, you may wish to reconsider. The little leather pouch it comes with is not ideal unless you are just going to throw it in your pack.

Comments about Leatherman Sidekick Multitool:
I carry this tool with me daily. I use it frequently for work (stripping wires, cutting tape) and around the house for odd jobs. I like the non serrated blade as it sharpens easily and retains its edge. The pliers work well when needed. I rencently used the Philips screwdriver to adjust the bindings on my snowboard. The screws were extremely tight but the tool did the trick without stripping anything. I would recommend this tool for everyday carry.

Comments about Leatherman Sidekick Multitool:
This is a great multitool and is my EDC knife. I like the feature that the blade is accessible while the tool is closed. The pliers are nice since they are spring opening and are helpful when using.

Comments about Leatherman Sidekick Multitool:
I've used Leatherman tools for decades, and have quite a collection, but this is the first one I've ever returned.
I bought the Sidekick because I liked that it was in between the Wave/Charge and the Skeletool in size, had what looked like a good assortment of tools, and had a pocket clip(I also looked at the Wingman, but wanted the saw more than the scissors). Upon opening the package,I got my first disappointment. The small file did not have the diamond coated side I expected;instead it had the tiny, poorly marked ruler(I had figured the ruler would be along the backs of the handles like other LM's). I was already prepared to not like the serrated blade. It's not only small, but LM still hasn't figured out Spyderco's excellent serration pattern. Spydie blades of this size are actually effective cutters. The carabiner tool was also a let down. It has a socket for 1/4" bits, but no way to hold them in place,so it's not very useful. But the final straw was the pliers. I've pinched myself twice between the jaws and handle because of the design and spring action. And when I tried to cut a piece of bicycle brake cable,it wouldn't do it. This isn't the easiest thing to cut,but the cutters on this tool wouldn't even try;they just squashed the wire without severing a single strand. Looking closely,I found that unlike other LM's,the cutters on the Sidekick meet rather than sliding past each other. So I dug out my angle dikes, put the Sidekick back in its package, and returned it the next day.
In my opinion, this tool does not meet the level of quality or usefulness that I've come to expect from LM.
